What films of our generation do you think people of future generations will consider " a classic " ?

Off the top of my head id nominate Schindlers list and Shawshank

Its a bit hard to say, with people having differing opinions on everything, but i think that Fight Club is one of the most radical (and entertaining) films of recent years, and might just pass the test of time. Id like to think that Amilie would too, but how many people have seen that ?

Welcome to Sarajevo
Being John Malkovich
Before Sunrise
Fight Club
Seven
Bullets over Broadway
Y tu Mama Tambien

there's lots more I can't think of now ... Not doing too badly there, are we? Can anyone think of any Irish films that'll be classic in years to come, though? Maybe Butcher Boy?

Seven and schindlers list, definately.
The new star wars films will probably be looked back on when the next set of the saga comes out aswell
<edit> how could we forget the lord of the ring trilogy?

I suppose you could argue that most of the films mentioned are already considered classics.

But as for my Choices, besides the obvious LOTR...

Memento
The Big Lebowski
Leon

Agree/Disagree?
