No, it is only Czech,Italian and French channels.
You also need seperate cards for these packages.

You can get all kinds of channels if you'd turn your dish to Astra1 or Hot Bird, but they won't fit all in your "Other channels" menu.

If you can get your hands on an old analogue reciever, stick a minidish up pointed to 19'E.
You get 5 music stations - Viva, Viva+, Tango TV, MTV Germany, MTV 2 Pop... CNN,CNBC, Eurosport and there must be more than 30 german stations. RTL, Sat1, 3Sat, Kabel, N24 etc.... Basically the entire German terrestrial output AFAIK is on Astra 1 analogue & digital and I can't understand a word!!

I've got a old Pace MSS1000 reciever that was given to me at christmas.. pics are completely sparkley free with my other minidish. I can get a perfect analogue picture off Iraq TV when I nudge the dish a bit to 16deg, could be interesting if things hot up down there... I can also pick up around 80 german digital cd quality radio statins with my ADR box from Astra 1

German Tv Channels

carrolls, what sort of system do u have? The reason I ask is NOT because I'm suspicious-because I'm NOT- but because I have an ordinary Sky Digibox, and I was told 3 months ago that there was no way that the Digibox could handle basically any channels other than the Czech channels, and that French, Italian and other foreign channels were out.

Your digibox won't recieve any extra foreign stations unless you nudge your dish from Astra 2 at 28 degrees east to Astra 1 at 19 degrees or Hotbird at 13 deg east or get a seperate dish to pick up one of these. The best selection of extra channels are on these two sats.

Well I can pick up ESPN Classic sports ( A French Channel), and I know you can also pick up A lot of Czech channels, some Austrian Channels and the Italian Channels Noello, Deejay, Sailing and Olisat etc. You have to change the angle of your dish to point to the Eurobird Satellite angle 28.2E.
Some of these channels are encrypted using the CryptoWorks algorithm, so you need to get a viewing card from the broadcasters.

Noello, Deejay, Sailing and Olisat use symbol rates other than the allowed set with a digibox. His dish should already be pointing to 28E if the Sky installer did his job right.
The only foreign stations available without moving your dish and using your digibox are TV3 Czech, ESPN Classic France & occasional Czech news progs. on CT1 & 2.
CryptoWorks cards will not work with a digibox as they only have a VideoGuard cam inbuilt.

For German stuff you'll just have to move your dish..

I have an 85 cm dish with twin LNB - one pointing to Astra 2 and one to Astra 1. I can get crystal clear reception on both Sky and the German stations.

If you get a digital receiver for Astra 1, you can also enjoy the digital ARD and ZDF offerings, plus additional French stations.

2 camping dish!

Well what i did to check out the other channels was to buy a 3ocm camping dish! It's plastic with suction pads at the bottom and it sits on top of my stereo in the corner of my living room facing the window... matches all the black stereo tv stuff very well ...and i just move it towards diffierent satellites ... not very high tech and not that convenient .... hey but as a cheapo temporary solution it kind of works well:-) that and the fact that i have been fined for having a dish on the outside of the building...
hey the things we do for TV

He may have the Arcon Sweetie-its a really small dish shaped more like the cap of a saucepan, held up on a pole.It works as well as a dish twice its size in some cases.

Since David C. posted that info, sadly ESPN Classic has left or is encrypted on Sky Digital.
ESPN Classic, was only in French, and was and is only aimed at the French market.
