Room101 - Registration & Sign-ups Open

Hi all,

We've pretty much finalised the details on the lan at Easter. I'm going to paste the details here, but if you require further information, I suggest you keep looking at the official signup details on the site - http://www.room101.org.

You will need to go to the site and firstly, register for the actual site and then sign-up for the lan. Sorry, As I said before, the user accounts were all wiped. Apologies for that.

Details :
This aint just another lan, this is a lan seating 101 people. (hence the name). When we run a lan we try and make it a little different or improve on the last one. This lan is gonna be no exception to that rule.

Running over 4 days, it will be a 24hour lan, non-stop, from a Friday Morning to a Monday mid-day. Its going to be on in Easter, which is March 29, 30, 31st and April the 1st. Lan ends at Mid-day, Monday. Thats a whopping 72(ish) Hours of pure lan fun!. Besides the usual lan facilities, (ie tables, chairs, power, switches, etc.), we plan on having music, food, lots of Drink, overhead projectors, dammit, what-ever we can come up to make it more enjoyable.

There will be many competitions at the lan, from Q3 Mania, Starcraft 2v2's, Q2, UT, RTCW, MoH to CS team games. More details on the that later.

Rental PC specs:
PowerMate i-Select XL3 A1900+ AMD Athlon XP 1900+ Processor with Quantispeed Architecture.
Running at 1.9 GB
nVidia GeForce2 Pro graphics cards
256 Mb Ram
Logitech Wheel Mice
MS Win XP

Address/Location :
NetHouse. 72 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1. Ireland.

Cost Details :
€40 for BYO
€60 for Rental PC's

- The cost is the same regardless if you go for one day or all three days.
- Postal orders/ cheque payable to: Net House. 28 Upper Georges Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
- Payments must be received no later then March 18th. No Payment delays will be accepted.
- No on the door payments accepted.

*shameless plug*
A note about the site for anyone who wants to run a lan/ cafe lan, etc. - Users can create their own lans and have people sign up there, post up information and pretty much auto-mate the headaches of running a lan. I would encourage anyone who needs help or wants to use this facility as it can really save a lot of time for you.

Let the flames commence.

OK, how about if you want to go but you dont plan on using a PC at all (e.g. use people console systems instead). How much do I have to pay?

Will there be any monitor rental, will there be access to a public CD burner. I.e. for the poor ppl who rent a machine, can we burn some Roms/Pr0n/MP3's/Gamez/Warez to CDs and finally will we get a place to kip if we need to?

Thanks,

Ivan

Actually no I wasn't.

Alot of people arent going to be able to bring machines, or dont want to or for whatever reason. But I would imagine there will be alot of stuff floating around that many people would like a copy of.

Personally I'm going to bring my own machine, simply because I can burn my own stuff or save it to disk or whatever. Also if someone I know wants to burn something I'll let them use mine, but with 101 people going, I'm gonna know sfa ppl.

Was just a suggestion, didnt expect to get flamed for such an innocent comment.

You didnt answer my other question.

Couple of reasons why they might'nt want to have a burner
1) too many people will be wanting to use it.
2)They don't want to do any copyright piricy on their premises, maybe let the people who bring their own machines do the dirty work.

Sleeping arrangements are a little hazy just now as Im organising a 'sleeping' area for us all. Let me get back to you on that one.

There will be security on the premises. In fact, it will be so tight, people will find it difficult getting in and out of the place without their registration tags (given when arriving).
