In Limerick
The Comic Shop on Lower Gerald Griffin Street has a selection (sometimes good, sometimes small) of manga and anime. The animes are expensive (aren't they everywhere?) but the manga is very reasonably priced. www.thegatheringlimerick.com

There's also some stuff in Eason and O'Mahony's in Limerick too, but it's mostly Tokyopop ass.

Seems to be quite a large collection in HMV's World Cinema section on Grafton Street. A lot larger than it used to be, anyway.

*blush*

I now feel a bit guilty that i've not been here before.

(Ignore the voices that are screaming "Oh, yes you were, just after the original Eirtaku boards closed down."... They lie, that was YEARS ago!)

I am endevering to broaden our sellection of Anime and manga here in Other Realms----More Box Sets, and new and 'interesting' manga.
And after i get the stock quanties correct I'll worry about the site.

But for now, its nice to see that anime is still as popular as ever

Well, the current eirtaku forums have been chugging along happily for the last couple of years, so you have no excuses

Be nice if you'd like to take on some suggestions here of what would likely have a good reception. Having run EirtaKon and gotten to speak to a wide demographic of Irish fans has been enlightening. Perhaps OtherRealms would care to have a presence of some sort at the next EirtaKon?

I'd also be able to do you a good deal on getting that website overhauled

You can contact me at either cult[at]anime.ie or cult[at]eirtaku.com.

In Waterford, Sinnots used to be good for anime when they first started stocking it, but as time went by they never got any new releases in and only restocked the same dvds they first started getting 5 odd years ago

Desparate times calls for.....

My advice: Import, Import, Import, Import, Import, Import. Or download it and hope to hell the site doesn't get a C'n'D letter from Funimation. I tried going down the homemarket road and bought a lot of my earlier stuff from Tower, Virgin and the 'Planet. Well, ya know what I say to that now? Screw 'em!

I won't spend between €30 to €40 on a title I know i can get for €10-€15 from the states!

Also I buy a lot of stuff direct from Japan but you need a fansub trans to paste on to the movie or learn conversational Japanese.

Any ways hope this helps someone.

The anime in Tower Records is waaayyyy better. They have more than Laser! And, they're even attempting to sell Manga!

Also, you can get manga in mah local library...How cool is that?! xD
Of course, they're totally crap...Sailor Moon and the likes, but still!
I remember years ago no one even knew what anime was! I'd walk into a video store and ask if they had any anime...They'd just look at me like I was crazy. xD

Omg, I bet this is some scheme by the Japanese to take over the world!

Oh well.

EDIT: Also, I found various links to the Anime And Manga Society Of Dublin, one in your signature, which links to a DCU site, and the anime.ie one, but neither work
I've got a couple of books from a shop in my town for just €13, they're good books, but they're really hard to get hold of, i had to order in a few books, and some i couldn't get.......

i stopped buying anime releases in this country in the late 90's, when i discovered how the BBFC were cutting them. you really are better off buying them online. Just make sure you dont buy any freaky underage Lolikon Hentai customs will NOT be happy lol
