Ok the new season is nearly upon us and preseason will be starting up for a lot of clubs soon enough if it hasn't already. So if your club is looking for new players let us know when and where you will be training. Also if your club has any upcoming events and you have a flyer post it up (obviously within reasons or we will remove them)

When posting please mention the Province, county and location in the post so that I can try and keep a region based list. Ideally if your club has a website post that as well. Email addresses and Contact numbers should not be included and will be edited out. If you want people to Private message you these details please state it in the post. You can set up email alerts for when private message via your profile control panel

For those looking to start playing Rugby please feel free to ask any questions here. Rugby is a great team sport and is always looking for new players no matter what age or skill level you are at. So please use the info in this thread and if the info you are looking for information that isn't already here ask and someone will hopefully be able to help.

**Mod note any off topic chat will be edited out to keep this on topic as much as possible

Leinster > Dublin > Stillorgan RFC

Pre-season in Stillorgan is back tomorrow evening (12/07/12) and every Thursday so stroll down to the pitches beside the church on Bird Avenue in Clonskeagh from 7pm if anyone in the Dublin area is interested. Few circuits followed by a few games of touch or tag to shake off the cobwebs for the first week or two anyway, you can start worrying about the big hits after that. The club hopes to be fielding three teams (J2, J4, J5) this coming season so should be a level for everyone. The club is always after those with ambition so if you fancy the challenge you can eye up spots on the higher J2 and J4 teams, for the rest of us I can personally attest that there is a spot on the J5s for those new to the game, slowing down or, like myself, just not the best at the game.

    Where would you be playing?
In the bigger cities clubs have teams going down to j4 and j5 level while the majority of clubs around the country only go down to j2 maybe j3 level

Standard will be ok. You will have a couple of games in tipp county cups, some played at start of season with other games at end of season and then at least x amount of games in the gleeson league.
Games will mainly be against other clubs in south tipp

We played their J4's last season and they are a good team. Decent bunch of lads as well, always give you a tough game and they'll challenge for trophies at J4's.

    Best of luck!

If anyone's in doubt about heading to a club, just go. You'll love it.
