Top 10 wii games

Since the wii is drawing to a close i thought it be fun to hear peoples top 10 wii games. The wii has a ton of great games , some of the best this gen imo. Before i get started i may be including games that were on gamecube that are ports because they were my first time experiencing the games. So all that aside lets get started

10.Fragile Dreams: not a perfect game by any means but i absolutely fell in love with the story , the characters , the music , it had one of those feelings that made me feel where i dont get too often in games, i have great memories of it many years to come.

9.Metroid Prime 3 Corruption: my first experience with the prime series and my first metroid title and i freaking loved it. Had a great mix of shooting, platforming . Boss fights were quite good aswell . Samus became a favourite of mine after this.

8.Sin and punishment successor of the skies: currently in the middle of playing this and ive played enough to know this game blows my mind. All intense action and normally im not a fan of these types of games but this is amazing.

7.House of the dead overkill: although i purchased the ps3 version cause it was cheaper and wii version was nowhere to be found although a second hand copy for 40 quid i think its acceptable to post it here anyways since its the same game but anyways overkill was a absolute ride , by far my favourite in the series i had so many laugh out loud moments , boss battles were fun and music was great.

6.Sonic Colours: oh boy oh boy oh boy my childhood character is back was my instant reaction when i had Colours in my grasp, sonic was dead back in 2003 up till then the fact that the game was enjoyed not by me but others aswell , its just warmed my childhood heart . The game looked at times a hd game on the wii which blew my mind , music aswell some of the best in the franchise . Sonic back oh happy days

5.Resident Evil: as i said above i know this is a gamecube game but it was my first time playing it so ya my list my rules . This game not just what a survival horror should be like but what resident evil should be aswell, the atmosphere while feels just like it did back in the day but its ever so creepier and taunting. Its a amazing game that right now everyone should play.

4.The Last Story: this game..oh this game is a true work of art, the story is fantastic and characters were some of the best in any jrpg , humour they had with one another and although at times it remained somewhat similar to others i still loved it , music is amazing and combat is fantastic . Truly enjoyed it and great way to send of the wii

3.The legend of zelda twilight princess: another gamecube game but this had more of effect on me than mentioning skyward sword cause twilight princess was my first zelda title. Stepping in hyrule the first time was breath taking , music was amazing and it was my first time experincing nintendo title going this dark :O. Was a stepping stone that introduced me to the zelda series , for that it will always have a huge impact on me.

2.Nights Journey of dreams: i know this may raise few eyebrows but this game had such a effect on me i couldnt help but fall in love with its charm, music. Night as a character is awesome , i think the fact it felt like sonic in the sky may have a reason over it but i couldnt get enough of it , its games like this why i love videogames.

1.Super Mario Galaxy 2: super mario galaxy 2 .. Perfection is a word that used useley but no two ways bout it galaxy is perfect in every way shape and form. I skipped galaxy 1 and went straight to two cause i heard they were the same really , and boy did i ****ing love this game. The fact every level you play is different and nintendo one idea could might aswell be a game of its own is mind blowing , jumping from planet to planet has such a feeling my jaw dropped while i was in awe. I will be picking up galaxy 1 thats for sure.

So yeah theres my list , the wii has being bashed as kiddy and not enough core titles but in reality the wii has being my fav platform out of the big 3 . Every game i have mentioned have had a huge impact on me when it comes to games , these are the best of the best and i merely only scratch the wii surface .

I'll do mine later, but just want to ask did you go and get the other Primes after you played Corruption? And then did you go back and play Super Metroid. All are great games.
Same with Zelda. After starting with Twilight, did you go back and play the likes of Ocarina(which was my introduction)?

Keep an eye out for decent priced second hand. Or you may even find copy in Xtravision. Sometimes have games like that buried behind the Udraws and Just Dances
Believe me, it's worth it. I've got 1 and 2 for the Gamecube and 3 for Wii and would still get the trilogy.

Not really in any order

1. Xenoblade - Simply the best RPG this generation other than dark souls
2. Mario Galaxy 2 - the first game is only not included because I want room for more. I'm not sure there's a better 3D platformer.
3. New Super Mario Bros Wii - Far better than the DS game and more than a match for world and mario 3
4. Endless Ocean - Perfect for relaxing
5. LoZ: Twilight Princess - I enjoyed this more than Skyward Sword
6. Super Smash Bros Brawl - Screw the haters, this game is excellent and a worthy follow up to Melee
7. Boom Blox - Great solo, even better as a party game
8. Fragile Dreams - It has its problems but it'sa fascinating and emotional journey that more than makes up for it
9. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - Absolutely fantastic fighting game that I prefer to MvsC 3. If it got released on something other than wii I'm sure it would be more popular.
10. Zangeki no Reginleiv - Earth Defense Force but with a fantasy setting. Absolutely bananas but so much fun. Pity it only stayed in Japan

You were doing so well until you got to Number 8.

In my top 10 would probably be:
1. Force Unleashed (Just for being able to lift and throw bad guys off Cloud City)
2. House of the Dead (really fun)
3. MadWorld (Again, great fun game)
4. Metroid Prime Corruption (No reason needed. It's Metroid Prime)
5. No More Heroes 2 (This and the first were just funny to play)
6. Okami (Best non-Zelda Zelda game I've played)
7. Skyward Sword (Zelda, Motion Plus. all good)
8. Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2) (goes without saying really)
9. Twilight Princess (Zelda. And Just flicking the wrist to draw the sword was cool)
10. Zack and Wiki (Old school point and click adventure type puzzles combined with action elements)

Honourable Mentions: Dead Space:Extraction(decided to place HotD in the list) and Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands(Made especially for the Wii and plays brilliantly)

From my limited selection of games:

1. Goldeneye 007
Was expecting to be a bit disappointed after all the hype but its a brilliant game, way better than any of the COD games IMO
2.House of The Dead Overkill
The funniest game I've ever played and just really enjoyable
3.Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga
Really fun game
4.Mario Kart
5.Super Mario Allstars
Pretty decent for the price I paid but a little disappointed that it didnt have Super Mario World
6.Wii Sports Restort
Addictive
7.Shaun White Snowboarding
Meh
8.Wii Sports
Again addictive
9.Wii Fit Plus
May actually be a load of bull but the downhill skiing is good craic
10.Splinter Cell Double Agent

Havent played any of the Super Mario Galaxy games or New Super Mario Bros so they would probably be in there along with Metroid but they're all still pretty expensive. New Super Mario Bros is still around €50 even after what, 2 or 3 years!

Not really in order.

10. Harry Potter and Order of Phoenix - charming adventure and nice to see Hogwarts
9. Okami- a brilliant adventure with good controls
8. Wii Sports Resort - table tennis was very addictive
7. Mario Kart Wii - decent addition to franchise although tried playing last day and controls were quite difficult
6. Super Paper Mario - quirky adventure, first one in series and liked it
5. Twilight Princess- beats Skyward sword in terms of characters (Fi is crap in comparison to Midna) but loses to controls
4. Brawl - no need for explanation
3. Mario Strikers Charged Football - not a big fan of football, prob why I like this, it's a game that I have played over the years and still enjoy
2. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - improved on original with intro of Yoshi and cloud mario, although didnt like Rock Mario as much though
1. Skyward Sword- while playing, wasn't a big fan but reflecting back on it, was a brilliant game overall

NSMBWii, Wario Land, Wii Fit, Zack and Wiki and Little King's Story are another few to mention

Not a big fan of Metroid though. Got the Trilogy for €15 in Tesco a few years back so cant complain about price

Mr. Saturn's Contrarian Top-10, in order of convenience, not preference:

1. Donkey Kong Country Returns: I lied, this is first. Go buy it, buy it now. Proper, bonafide Nintendo-hard game that, for my money, surpasses its predecessors.

2/3. Mario Galaxy 2 and 1: The sequel tips the post here, but make no mistake, both are quintessential fun, with enough post-game teeth-gnashing to make the most weathered of gamers happy. Very, very pretty game too.

4. Muramasa: The Demon Blade: A deep, luscious action-RPG that tasks you with traveling an amnesiac fugitive/possessed princess through their respective ordeals, all against the backdrop of Genroku era Japan.

5. House of the Dead: Overkill: A lot of the Wii's AAA titles got HD ports elsewhere, but for its time (however short), this was the finest piece of lightgunning to be seen the side of its prequel (get back to that later). Of course, made all the more by its b-movie horror setting.

6. Super Paper Mario: A platforming RPG entry into the series that's been known to actively lampoon the Mario-cannon, whilst also treasuring it. It also helps that it's a fantastic hybrid of the two genres that feather Mario's cap.

7. Gunblade NY/ LA Machineguns: I like shooting at cartwheeling androids, strained by a crack-like time-attack mode.

8. Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Basically, this is Marvel vs Capcom 3, before Marvel vs Capcom 3, and without the Marvel. What you do get is a stock of Japanese anime-lore cracking fists with some of the best/forgotten of Capcom's archives, with appearances from Batsu of Rival Schools and Alex from SFIII. This was a love-letter to Capcom's fans. I know, they did that kind of thing once.

9/10: House of the Dead 2&3 Returns/Ghost Squad: I like a bargain. I mean, that's what this is. You basically alternative between which arcade experience you want to emulate, and boom! Watch out Goldman/Dingo.
