Your core is an amazing strap of muscle that very rarely rests in total. When you walk your core is active, when you drive your core is active (or should be
) so don't worry too much about having to warm it up like a muscle that lays dormant over a period.
Either way any good pilates teacher will bring the class through a number of exercises that will fire up the core before you start banging into the 100's
