They congratulated a team for winning the Champions League. What the hell is wrong with that? Doesn't mean they aren't disappointed. Some Spurs fans have really gone off the ball after this season. As disappointed as i am, i still congratulated the few Chelsea fans i have...does that make me ****in eejit that's never allowed near WHL again? Doesn't matter if they are paid by the club, it's common courtesy to congratulate the winning team.

Be disappointed, but at least try and show a little class about it.

If we had shown half the application Chelsea showed on Saturday night for the month of March we would have had nothing to worry about.

Nothing to see here except 2 professionals send best wishes to fellow pros for reaching the pinnacle of the club game.

Anything less than a congratulations from all at Spurs is a little petulant imo. As I've said its nothing to do with Chelsea that we finished where we did.

So because Spurs pay their wages they shouldn't congratulate a team for what is a pretty amazing achievement? Regardless of how Chelsea won it, they won it...and they deserve the congratulations. We've no one to blame but ourselves for not getting a CL spot, and refusing to say "Well done" (regardless of how gutted they are), just seems petty.

if it was roles reversed , i can guarantee you Terry and his chronies wouldn't be congratulating any of our players. What they did was wrong , all wrong.

They did this on a social network site. Why not do it in private?

I think we should breed players who aspire to be more in terms of a person than John Terry and the likes, berba.

Saha is a thoroughly decent individual and Pienaar was shipped off in January. Neither have done anything wrong here imo.

Because they all use that social network site and it's not a private matter. They said congratulations to Chelsea for a massive achievement. It's not like Chelsea beat us in the final...and even if they had you'd still hope we'd be gracious in defeat and congratulate them.

The Bayern players shook the hands of all the Chelsea players after the match...Stephen Ferris congratulated Leinster for winning the Heineken Cup final yesterday...it happens all the time, and long may it continue.

Being gracious in defeat isn't something that should be frowned upon.

At a time when all spurs fans were hurting they could have employed a little more tact.

Simply saying nothing publicly would have sufficed.

I presume you think Terry and co wouldn't have congratulated us if the roles were reversed because you think so little of them and their behaviour in recent years. Why then is doing the opposite of their thuggish behaviour something to be criticised for ? Do you want our players to act like them ?

Grow up?? There's a bit of difference between all those examples above and what happened with Cheslea getting CL instead of Spurs. None of those clubs will miss out massively on losing what they lost, however the consequences for Spurs as a club, without trying to exaggerate, could be dire. Modric for one will probably leave, Bale could, those our 2 of our most potent attracking options. Not only that but our transfer targets will be lowered, for the obvious reason of not having CL and for also not having the funds the CL generate. Also there's the small matter of our current manager, he needs to be replaced. He lost the players with all his talk of England, and made some baffling decisions throughout the season that had an obvious negative impact on the team. How many managers will want to take over Spurs now?
So as you can see there's a bug difference in the examples you gave and consequences for Spurs of Chelsea winning the CL. To repeat, they're a pair of gumps, they could at least have said nothing and showed some sensitivity towards their employers and their employers' fans.

How about Relegated players congratulating the teams who avoided the drop?

Or Blackpool congratulating Reading, Southhampton and Westham?

In both the scenes above, the loss is infinately bigger than Spurs missing CL football. And both happened with out "gumps" of supporters acting like tits.

Also hilarious my post was deleted.

Milan currently have 1 player over 35 and 2 34 year olds in the squad...
After that the next oldest players are Mexes, Bonera, Ibrahimovic and Amelia at 30...

Over 35's indeed...

Where as you lot have a 38 year old, a 41 year old, 2 34 year olds, a 33 year oldand 3 31 year olds...
