Not a FGer but I think Enda is doing reasonably well given the circumstances he found himself in.

This kind of thing won't reverse the fiscal situation straight away, but we will definitely starting seeing the fruits of Enda's labour in the coming months.

It would not surprise me at all if Enda was to go down as an all-time great Taoiseach in years to come. He is honest, he has the humility, but most of all, he has a steely determination to get things done.
Well written, Enda!

I hate all of this Ireland Inc stuff - we are a country not a business. Yes, we should have sound economic polices but, unlike a business, our elected representatives should not be concerned with the profit margin but in the society as a whole.
Also, I may be wrong, but weren't developers businessmen? Wasn't Quinn lauded for years as a fine businessman? Fine job they did.

I think that Kenny, like too many of our elected politicos, is still in primary school teacher mode. We are treated like children by our governments - threatened with dire consequences if we don't do as we are told, given 'treats' to entice us to vote and generally ignored when it comes to implementing the national curriculum..er... government policies.

I don't think we have had a decent taoiseach since Lemass...and that from a dyed in the wool, lifelong, FF hater.

Ah you can say what you want about him inheriting the mess, but he is generally quite an irritating guy. He has done nothing positive in my mind that makes me think that he cares or has an interest in anything but having his name recorded as Taoiseach.

I think he wants to go down in history as the 'Man who saved Ireland.' Sadly, I also think he is completely out of his depth and has no idea what to do bar follow the dictates of the Big Boys (and Girls) in Europe in hope they know what they are doing.

They did sign a deal with the EU they cant just back out,if ireland has no access to funds that means, gards cant get their pay, doctors, nurses, teachers, and every employee in ireland will be in trouble not to mention those in reciept of social welfare..basically what it means is irelands atms will be empty and have no money to dispense..we have no choice a yes vote was the lesser of two evils at this stage..At the beginning we should have let the banks burn back in 2008 we would have been in a situation where iceland is if we played our cards right after that but we didnt we let the banks burden our country..

Was that why the FG GE election campaign promised to abide by all of the deals made by FF?

Yes - I remember their slogan now: Vote Fine Gael - we'll do exactly the same as Fianna Fáil will do.

Oh...hang on....

I think he's far to institutionalised as a politician to be effective, he's spent nearly 40 years as a TD, IMO this is simply too long to have any grasp of what it's like to live in the real world.

He doesn't inspire anything other than the same old same old kind of attitude. We need new people running the country now.
