[FPL] Gameweek 38 Transfers and Team News

Looks like Cahill and BAE will almost certainly be out. Evans and Simpson are doubts but with United and Newcastle both playing huge games I'm sure they'll be doing everything they can to get fit for the game.

I'll probably be swapping Cahill out using my FT. If Blackburn don't win tonight they'll be relegated and I can't see them putting up much of a fight away at Chelsea if this is the case, so I might double up on Chelsea defenders and do a straight swap on Cahill > Bosingwa. My season could easily rest on Chelsea keeping a clean sheet!

Koscielny is another option in the same price bracket, but I'd be doubling up on Arsenal defenders away at West Brom, and after their showing against Norwich I'm not too confident of an Arsenal CS. My final option is Hibbert, purely because my opponent has him and it lessen the blow if he does well. We already have numerous similar players, and I think it might come down to who performs better between Cisse + Tevez (me) or Rooney + Jelavic (him).

As much as Tevez has been a flop for me I can see City destroying QPR in the last game. How I wish I had Aguero, he's clearly playing ahead of Tevez and is much more likely to play the full 90. I'm not even 100% Tevez will start...

Just to add to this for anyone that has Rio Ferdinand, he has a groin injury but is still likely to play next week.

I'm in Manchester from Saturday so will be doing my transfer Friday evening.

I'll post any last minute team news I hear on the ground round Old Trafford/ Etihad!

roryc,

what about Clichy? Home to QPR and he does go forward enough to grab you the odd assist. He's also been playing very well recently (not that it is relevant for FF but it adds some "bonus" to his whole current picture).

Personnaly, I may regret for a long time not having done Simpson -> Walker / Kompany -> Clichy last week for my WC. Although Cisse wondergoal secured me the weekly prize last week, having Kompany laughing loudly at me on the first spot of my bench was painfull enough and this week, I'm afraid I'll be a couple of points short off a second weekly prize in a row (yah you get used to winning ) and Clichy assist and probable BP would have suited me very well .

Coming back to next week, I feel the need of getting a City attacker. Just need to choose the best one. And also midfielder or forward or both for a 4 pt hit ? Aguero seems a good candidfate but I can only afford him through a 4 pt hit or for VP. Can Yaya Toure reproduce such a game? Maybe Silva?

I'd actually planned on bringing in Clichy a while back instead of Kompany but didn't get many people agreeing so decided against it. Wish I'd stuck to it instead of getting in Richards who I ended up subbing out a few weeks later anyway.

Definitely one I'd consider though. I might need to move fast too, Cahill will most likely go down tonight as he's 100% confirmed out for the QPR game, and I can only afford Koscielny if I move tonight. I can probably wait to decide on Bosingwa or Clichy.

I think Chelsea are more likely to keep a CS if Blackburn don't win tonight. QPR will be going all out attack either way, and this isn't something City are used to dealing with.

Who are people thinking are the big points scoring must haves for the final week then?

Ive already got Moses, have just transfered Caulker out For Kompany but reckon ill take a 4 point hit to bring in someone who's likely to score a few goals!

Have Cisse, Tevez and Jelavic up front but might swap Tevez for Aguero?

I would have done this is I didnt think I could use my FT better elsewhere. To take a 4 point hit to swap Tevez for Aguero is not a +EV move. You are basically giving Tevez a 1 goal headstart on Aguero, meaning Aguero needs to score 1 goal more than Tevez just to break even. If Aguero scores 2 then great stuff, but there's more chance of it going wrong than right.

Then again its the last game of the season, go nuts!

A lot still depends on how the remaining games of GW37 go imo.

If Blackburn lose then they have nothing to play for away to Chelsea, who could be looking to turn it on in front of their home fans ahead of the CL final...Torres could be a good gamble

Also Wigan would then be safe and against Wigan at home in the last game could go nuts. Moses seems a good option

If Man City score early against QPR and settle any nerves they may have then they could easily bang in 5 or 6. Silva and Augero seem the best bets here.

Spurs aiming for a CL spot at home against nothing to play for Fulham. Adebeyor and VdV seem the best options here, but you cant rule out Bale either

Cant see Utd players scoring big tbh. Other factors to watch out for are teams wanting to put in a big performance for their final home game of the season, especially if the opponents have nothing to play for themselves. Norwich and Swansea fit the bill here and at a stretch Everton (CL place more than likely beyond Newcastle now)

One thing that the final day of the season has shown in recent in years is that 1 or 2 players usually end up with a bucketload of points, spotting them (and captaining) is key to a strong finish.

Cheers for the good feedback! I reckon my team so far isnt too shabby then...

Vorm
Kompany, Gibbs, Hibbert
Moses, Dempsey, Siggy, VDV, Ben Arfa (Need to choose 4, thinking of benching BArfa).
Cisse, Tevez, Jelavic

will either swap Vorm for Hart or one of my forwards... opinions?

Thinking of swapping Rooney for Aguero

There's going to be one or two nuts scores this week

Unfortunately, they're hard to predict!

A good few people are going to have a long week if they're running different possibilities through their heads already!

It's the last day of the season. Anything could happen. I've seen Blackburn draw 4-4 with Reading and beat Spurs 4-0 in the past before!

Is RVP worth the captain against WBA away? Last game under Hodgson, but very important for Arsenal to secure third... what do people think?

I'm otherwise considering VDV again.
