registration fees

hey can anybody give me a few options on this??

im 23, almost finished 1st year of 3 yr social care degree. i applied to the vec for my registration fees to be paid (im on btea atm)and i got refused. also got the letter on my last day of class :/. i am in the middle of appealing it now but they said mine combined with my parents income was too high!!! and its so annoying as i havnt lived at home for past 2 yrs, i dont really get on with my parents and they dont have the money to give me even if they could, i havnet been finically dependent on my parents for at least 2 yrs also and its so annoying i can not afford the 2,250 fees!!!

does anyone know a person who could help me get this grant tru such as a Councillor in cork or anything that will push the grant tru as my future is depending on it!! and im studying for my exasm and my heads melted from all this tuff. anyone had similar situation can tell me what they did???

I don't think there are any other options - possibly the vincent depaul and/or a bank loan

Same thing happened to me 3 years ago, I talked to my colleges mature student officer, she was able to knock some of the fees of and set up an installment plan over the summer, its not ideal I know but thats all the advice I can give. I suggest you try to set up an appointment with your local TD to help you out for next year because if you did not quilify this year you won't next year
