Quick question lads, have a system for quite some time now with 8GB RAM and looking at overclocking the RAM, is it possible to keep the frequency as is and only decrease the latency timing?

Example:
Before Overclock: 1333mhz 1.5v RAM at CL9
After Overclock: 1333mhz (unsure about what voltage to set it at) RAM at CL5

Is it efficient to do this or am I wiser to overclock both frequency and decrease latency, what voltages would need to be changed and would it be beneficial to a CPU that is NOT overclocked?

Yes you can do that but I'd doubt you'd get it to 5. Maybe 7 if you're lucky.

Bear in mind that they're referring to DDR2 so in your case the timings would be a lot higher with DDR3.

It doesn't affect performance that much and nowadays people don't bother much as usually you'd be better off with a small CPU overclock. Really only something to do if you want to squeeze every last bit of performance out and are willing to spend time on stability tests.
