Cheap alternative to cd print (for 20 cds)

Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you know of some cheap options for putting a lable on my CDs?

Basically I usually print onto them myself but my cartridge has run out of ink and i can't afford to refill it (€80 to refill this particular cartridge)

Its only for around 20 - 30 Cds to hand around bars for cover slots so I don't need amazing just something that looks better than a little black marker with my name hand scrawled onto it.

Are there any options out there which would cost less than €30?

I appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction here?

Thanks
DrF ;-)

i use Taiyo Yuden (printable) stock and a printer that prints directly onto the disk itself. The easiest way to get great-sounding, pro-looking CDs.
They end up looking like 'test pressings' pretty much.
You could probably get such a printer for little more than €30 these days.

edit: sorry I see you have such a printer. Maybe buy a non-original recycled cartridge? I used to refill my own a few years ago. Potentially messy though.......

cd's

Hi

I use printable cd’s in work for proposals for corporate clients. I have a small canon printer that came with a tray for printing them. I use these regularly so the quantity might be a bit much for you?

Hope it helps

Thanks a million for the replies guys! (And sorry about the delay in returning to this had my exams and as it's my graduation year everything else went on the back burner).

The thing is I actually have a printer etc I just can't afford the cartridges so I was hoping there were some kind of stick on label of stencil/marker which works for CDs

Anything rather than a quick scribble with my name and number/website details on it...as I was saying it's just to hand around pubs etc so I really just want it to look tidy it's not for original release or anything like that.

Basically it'll be going in with my business card and brochure...is there nothing at all out there??

I've found a pack of 50 CD labels with some software that I must have bought in Lidl or Aldi some time ago.

I've just loaded the software and test printed a pair of labels (black and white).

PM me with the content and I'll print them for you. It's black and white laser printing but it looks fine.

Why don't you just load your printer with generic cartridges - they are a fraction of the price of the manufacturer's ones
I'm not a fan of sticky labels myself, they either come off or they can unbalance the CD as it spins.
