Radio Repair - FM/LW

Hi All,

Apologies if not in correct forum, didn't really know where to post & search function wasn't any real help, most queries outdated.

I have a Sony SW7600, its a little handheld world-band receiver and find it excellent.

I use a mains adaptor but the other night it fell off the dressing table & landed on the connector damaging both the adaptor & the input jack.
The adaptor still works fine (checked it on other radio) and the input jack kind of does too (if i point it towards Mecca & stand on one leg...) or more specifically if i twist it in a certain direction.

Am thinking the jack needs a solder or similar repair, or possibly a replacement. Have been ringing a few places but none seem too keen, seems to be too small a job as most focus on pro-systems.

Does anyone know any shops that may specialise in smaller model radio repairs or who may be able to help?

Am in Kildare but work in Dublin if that helps.

Many Thanks for reading.

You need a retired serviceman or enthusiast. Shop based servicing is practically dead and they would need to charge €40 to €80 to make a profit (Time & overheads) even though it's maybe an easy job.

This is as good a place to ask as any. I'm at the other side of Ireland so can't help personally.
