Hi all,

I'm looking for a decent mixer shower for about the €200 mark.
Where is my best port of call?
I liked the look of a Triton Unichrome Dart thermostatic mixer shower in B&Q but at €225 wondered if there was something better I could spend my money on?
Would I be better searching in some of the smaller builders merchant type places like Rosses/Davies/Chadwicks than the big superstores like B&Q?

Water pressure/availability of hot water shouldn't be a problem as the whole house has just been re-plumberd and a new high effeciency gas boiler etc added.

Any info gratefully received!

You will be doing well to get a good quality thermo shower for €200. I'm installing a Mira Minibelle with diverter at the moment ant it was €425 and it's a top notch shower.

Heatmerchants do a Bristan Artisan shower for €158. I have put them in but they do look cheap. If the Mira was beside it, it would win hands down.

That Triton shower is good value at that price.

I would certainly try Chadwicks et al to see what they say. It really depends on if they are in the mood to give you decent prices.

I bought a grohe shower and head from this crowd, and had no difficulty.

Just like the previous poster, I got a grohe mixer shower as the plumber said they were the best. I got it from http://www.ssd-armaturenshop.de/ and got more grohe stuff from www.buyaparcel.com

I am always of the opinion that if you are not buying an expensive branded shower that will have parts for years then buy a cheap exposed shower and keep a few tiles just in case.

A cheap thermostatic shower and kit will set you back the guts of 150.

As said a gravity(low pressure) branded shower will set you back around 400 euro

Mira and Aqualisa are the main two showers i use, easy to get parts, i put a new cartiage into a Mira thermostatic mixer shower that was fitted 18 years ago

You can get mixer showers and you can get thermostatic mixer showers. The latter a far better as they prevent scalding.
