Quinny is a legend. A great player to have on your team, always gave 100% and his work at the breakdown was immense. Pretty skilled too, when he was on the top of his game, he produced some amazing stuff.

Pity he didn't get more Ireland caps. I like him since he's turned to punditry too, very honest and offers a good insight into the game.

Much like Sexton, Farrell has the blueprint for the perfect outhalf
Well, he was the best English fly-half I can remember. Who was better?

Wilkinson was a very good outhalf, don't get me wrong but his reputation benefited no end from that drop goal and the fact that he was basically getting an armchair ride by his pack in that WC

For the last two years of his English career he just looked outdated, stood too flat and couldn't get what was a good bacline moving

After years of injuries and playing in a terrible England team

Wilkinson was obviously a shadow of his former self by the end of is England career but that shouldn't detract from the fact that he was a superb out-half in his pomp

I have to say, I respected Quinny as a player up until the Cullen gouge. While hes a good pundit I find myself changing the channel whenever hes on. While some say that missing that Lions tour was punishment enough, when you have young relatives playing the game you cant help but feel that anyone who engages in gouging should be thrown out of the game (including punditry).

Shane Jennings too then?

Tbh I think it was a disgraceful act but he did his time. He was a great flanker and he's a great man.

I looked at the Jennings incident and it looks like a complete accident. Quinlan's one was as clearly intentional.

In my opinion of course.

I'm sure hes a great man off the pitch but I never respected him in rugby after that.

So this makes any player who scores a try against the "mighty" Pumas a legend??
Methinks you must be a "latecomer" to the sport.

The gouging was indefensible and Quinny was probably what you'd class a dirty player, he lived on the edge and sometimes suffered rushes of blood to the head and did some stupid things. But it doesn't take away the fact that he was an excellent player, for both Ireland and Munster.

Superb player for Munster and an excellent player in the HC. You could argue that he is not far off the HC team of the decade.

But not so excellent for Ireland, in my opinion overall he was a very average player for Ireland.

so why are you posting here if you think it's just bandwagon jumpers?

I'd seriously doubt if you were at it either
