Why? I don't really understand why people aren't entitled to complain about the use of a word or phrase, which may not be suitable for family viewing.

As for Tallafornia it is purely TV3 trying to make out that they aren't an old fuddy-duddy TV channel, the problem with that pretense is the fact that it carries so many Family ITV programmes. Channel 4 TV3 is not.

There is a difference between being a "Mary Whitehouse" and having a genuine compaint about the watershed. If unsuitable content goes out before the watershed then audience have the right to complain.

I some how doubt that Mary Whitehouse or David Norris have many of the same views. You never know Mary Whitehouse may not agree with David's view

I would like to ask for a general debate on the standards in Irish life and what our values are, and I say that having looked at a programme called Tallafornia which is both compulsive and repulsive viewing.

I mean it is really seriously drink sodden programme where young people in my opinion are exploited, three young men, three young women. They're put in an atmosphere of continual drinking, they're encouraged to behave licentiously, they compete to bring people home to bed them. And eh the last episode was really obnoxious in that eh one of these young women who had an interest in somebody who wasn't particularly interested in her managed to bring somebody back to the house and the other guys decided to gang up and take a bet on whether she could be taken from him.

And there was simulated relations sexual activity, leaving eventually to full thing and I just wonder what kind of values this is inculcating in people, and if it's appropriate to eh and the language I have to say is something which even in my neck of the woods I wasn't entirely familar with on a habitial basis.

My point is that we are censored on boards when we use certain words, which some people might find vulgar.
