YEP JOE, leaving the family is a real downer, even for awhile,
but like i said, whats the alternatives ??
ive been around the block and back,, i think this one is a no brainer,,
its looking like most people will be in the same situation ,give or take,
and think about what you can do for the family if this works out well,,
so im thinking positive(for once),

hi, we were at cork expo and did not get any calls back or interviews, so i went to the jobsexpo site and got a list of all the employers and looked up there websites and found email adress', and sent off cv/resumes that way, and recieved a couple a emails back and a job offer.
i think that this a good way to get in to contact, as i think there were so many people at the expo that the companies could not keep track of the amount of cv given.

To all the chippies

Hi all,

Alot of chippies on this thread! :-)
My partner is also a chippy with over 12 years experience. We both have applied for IEC visa and been applying for loads of jobs online for him but no luck..
Does anyone have any contacts\tips that can help him secure work?
We have child also so need to get sorted.
Thanks.

So DH spoke to Monad and they are organising people to come over in groups once they have your stuff. The 14 days for DH will be a Wed to the Tue. There is normally a 5 days of training first.
My DH flys over on May 1st for a May 2nd start. They will put him up in a hotel for 2 days and he will pay them back. After the 2 days you make your own arrangements.
The rest of us will follow over end of June. Hoping baby walks by the time DH goes as he does't really want to miss his first steps.

hey all
I am new to this forum and have been reading all your comments. myself and hubby were at the cork expo too. though we have not got a job from monard, hubby has been offererd another job...so the reason im writing this is iv noticed there are alot of people on here that are unsure of the process..and as iv done alot of research on it maybe i can help clarify a few things for those of you who are unsure...if you were at the expo in dublin and cork and you are hoping to be sponsered by a company in saskatchewan, you will need to apply for SINP, not any other visa. First employee sends letter to Sinp, then you have to fill out the form online, with all family members even if they are not travelling with you straight away. once you have done that you will recive a letter of nomination from the canadian government, once you have that you will need to go to london and and get your temporary work permits there. also i was specifically told by hubbys employer that you have to fly into toronto and then into saskatchewan if you are doing the SINP program. You cannot fly into any other state. also if you fly into the U.S. you will need visas. if anyone one has any questions i really will try help. we are from galway have 2 kids and this is a scary yet very exciting oppertunity for all of us. i wish everyone the best of luck .....

Hi,

My doctor done the medical for H2B, I didnt have to have one as Monad are employing H2B and are sponsoring him to go over, so I was told it wasnt necessary for me to get a medical, but I have got the Garda Clearance for myself, H2B and DD. We are not applying for the SINP, Monad are doing our visa stuff for us!!

With the medical that Monad are looking for is just a letter from your doctor giving you a clean bill of health to work for them, they also require bloods for alcohol and drugs. we are still waiting the results of these, they have gotten "lost"?? Im near about to flip out with the doctors surgery and the hospital!

HI

Ok thanks for that...because i was told that if a medical is required that it needs to be done by a visa medical doctor, and they are in cork and dublin and this costs around 400euro. also are you 100% that monad are doing your visas, because hubbys employer said that the employer DOES NOT, do anything about the visas, only that they send a letter of employment. Now i could be wrong and maybe monad are differant i just dont want anyone to be stuck. So what visa is your hubby getting then?
