I couldn't think of anything else at the time - plus it gave me a giggle :)

Mickey Mouse always makes me laugh too, with all his wacky hijinks! :D

Sometimes I also presume that a username with the person's real name and some numbers after it are a bit unimaginative.

An exclamation point is much better than a few numbers though: it's less impersonal and perkier!

    I quite like my handle.

Usernames with reference to football teams in them always make me think the poster will be arrogant. I'm usually proved wrong, so I don't know why!

On the other hand (and this isn't a prejudice, more an assumption), I always think anyone with a band-name in their username must be really young (about 13-15).

I don't really like my username, I think the one I wanted was gone so I just typed in anything so I could post. It also makes everyone (wrongly) assume I'm male... :P

I'm really sorry for the hurt and annoyance my username has caused :(

How ever can I make it up to you and the community.

What if they are the band in question?

And another thing: putting your age in your username.

Your birthyear is not so bad, as that doesn't change.

    But your age...

It reminds me of when I'd see people's Bebo pages saying "Hi I'm ______ and I'm 15 and I go to St. Aloysius' Secondary School!" when they were in college or after!

    It's unlikely, really :P

    <band> rock
    <band> rule!
    I <3 <band>
And then you also get people who slot their own name into bands (not on boards as much as other sites) - Mary! At The Disco etc.

Nothing against it, just makes me think the person is v young.

People that call themselves Sexy or Hot in their usernames. Good god it just reeks of narcissism!

Mine's the name of a videogame character and a lucky number of mine, I can tolerate nerdy usernames (it is the internet after all).

But when people call themselves Hot or Sexy (or worse, sxc) I do want to slap them in the face. With a brick.

Haha Bebo was brilliant for usernames. I have a cousin a couple of years younger than me, and there was a trend amongst all her friends to put "hugs and kisses" after their name... which they wrote as Ox. So they were all Karen Ox, Mary Ox, Anna Ox etc. I asked her once why she was friends with so many oxen... :pac:

Well no, I didn't imagine you as fifteen, if that's any consolation :P. Not if it's their own band! It's just names with like "I-Love-Fall-Out-Boy" and "Nirvana-Rule" etc that make me think that the poster is very young.
