Today FMs Shave or Dye 2012

Hi all, just wondering are many of ye getting involved in this this year? As someone who has lost a few family members and friends to this dreaded disease, I, for one, am getting on board

Here is a link!

In short:
Quote:
Today FM's Shave or Dye is an annual charity drive to benefit the Irish Cancer Society. Our inaugural campaign in 2010 saw Today FM presenters ask listeners to sponsor them to shave and dye their hair, and in turn ask them to do the same. The response was phenomenal, as people across the length and breadth of the country raised more than €800,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.

I'm shaving my head and then donating my hair (all 7-10" of it) to littleprincess.co.uk so they can use it to help make a wig for a child.

Looking for financial donations if anyone can help out....

I dye my hair so often that I don't think anyone would sponsor me for doing so at this stage . I have to raise money for charity in other ways!

One of my female colleagues is going to shave her head if she hits a certain fundraising target from all of her colleagues

I'm really tempted to do this this year. I've ALWAYS wanted to shave my head for charity, and I lost my Mam coming up on 3 years ago to cancer, and my best friend had a scare at the same time (luckily her treatment worked while my Mum's didn't, but it could easily me losing both of them, which scared the bejeesus out of me!), along with other members of my family, we all know how horrible and evil cancer is. I'd like to do something to help, even if it's just a little.

I've been tempted for years too. Finally taking the plunge this year! Have got masses of support from friends and family - not actually doing it for a few weeks but am all set to go, registered and all. Feel really glad that I decided now.
@baby - whatever you decide, good luck

I'd really encourage people to get involved this year. I had my head shaved as part of last year's campaign (my hair was just past my shoulders ) It was brilliant, everyone reacted so positively and I raised a lot of cash for an incredible charity.

You can donate €2 by texting the word SHAVE to 57080
