Don't tell anybody I checked, apparently I have better things to be doing.

I never said you were. I was referring to the likely hood of it being United fans/people who don't like Liverpool instead of it being actual liverpool fans.

I still think Downing will be decent enough, he had a few decent games on the bounce then ended up on the bench against Sunderland. Hopefully his confidence hasn't dropped and he can push on.

Adam is a lost cause.

i'd love if Suarez got into a tantrum at training & knocked Adam out
i think he deserves it

Those decent game came against Championship sides for the most part, not surprising he flourished.

No problem using him sparingly and in a more advanced role, but to have him starting every game and in a deep position is folly, imo.

Well this is what you said:

'Fact is, Kenny has had a lot of money made available to him'
He was told he had to sell to buy - so how was cash 'made available to him'? He had to find it himself.

The owners simply juggle a bit and we should consider that they have 'made money available'? Are our standards so low that we consider that 'making money available'? As opposed to what, if they had simply pocketed £80m from the club a few months after moving in?

@The-Rigger, I can see what you are getting at, but I don't think the posters are getting at the clubs overall finances when they are questioning how £80 Million odd was spent on Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam.

Take the signings Rafa had in that region of money. Torres, Masch, Alonso, Aquillani and Riera.

That might be a bit unfair, Rafa signed Morientes, Garcia and Alonso for about £25-30 Million. One great, one grand and one a disaster for the club. It's early to tell for Kenny yet, Suarez, Enrique and Bellamy good, 4 others hardly inspiring.

Oh I agree that the signings thus far have been poor, overpriced and they seem to be a poor fit at the moment. That's frustrating and I'd like to know wtf is going on and why the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

However, no one should be overly surprised at the stagnation of the club league wise considering nothing has been injected into the squad for many years. We sold/loaned out about six midfielders in the past year or two (many of whom I wasn't fond of granted) and bought.. three?

I don't blame the owners for taking a wait and see approach - well hopefully that is what they have been doing as they find their feet and they will inject money into the squad or our youth system will provide which it has generally has failed to do thus far.

I expect the media to talk crap about how Liverpool continue to spend bucket loads of money and get nowhere, I expect fellow fans not to peddle it.

Rafa didn't sign a lot of players ? The three I mention was the outlay for that first season. Two of them very big successes. We signed a few other squad players at 1/2m but Kenny has signed that Sporting kid, young keeper etc for similar money on top of the other money spent.

Both seasons bare very little similarity in my eyes.

Opr
Didn't Rafa also sign Cisse in his first year as well?

Throw in Suarez being missing for 9 games, and when Spearing got suspended we lilerally had nobody good enough to play in centre midfield.

If you want to continue to argue over my exact phrasing, a figure of speech, be my guest. I know we've had to sell to buy, but it really isn't all that long ago when we were selling with no intention of re-investing in the squad, or are we just going to pretend that sorry episode never happened?

Sorry my posts aren't "top 3" standard. Maybe if I practice using 8 year old fail jpegs and asking what exact phraseology I should use in advance so as not to upset the pedantic amongst us, I might improve.

If it got lost in translation then fair enough, I can only go on the words you type obviously. I am not going out of my way to be obtuse.

Well this is key. No I haven't forgotten that episode however what I also haven't done which you clearly have is drop my standards like a stone because of it.

There is a base line of what is good and bad, for what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.
You (or I, or LFC fans or anyone) shouldn't alter where that line is because you are used to prior or recently sh1tty treatment.

Let's not make ourselves the battered wives/husbands of premier league fans.

Houllier tied up that transfer a few months before the end of the previous season.
