Chuck S05E08 "Chuck Versus The Baby" [** SPOILERS **]

When Sarah's old spy handler reappears, she goes off on her own to prevent a secret from her past from destroying her family.

Quote:
To end its portion of the 2011 half of the season, Chuck continues its run of upward progression following the slow start. This week’s episode follows closely behind the events of the Shaw fiasco on Christmas Eve, and Sarah manages to find herself in even more trouble as a past mission resurfaces and she is forced back into old habits of secrecy as she attempts to protect a young girl, all the while pushing the “home sweet home” finale we are most likely heading towards.
Quote:
Another terrific episode of what's quickly becoming one of Chuck's best seasons, which is a great turnaround after the lacklustre fourth. "Chuck Versus The Baby" put the spotlight on Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and explained more of her character's back-story, specifically in the period after she'd joined the CIA and before she agreed to become Chuck's (Zachary Levi) handler for Director Graham (Tony Todd). It was also another brilliant showcase of Strahovski's athleticism and screen charisma, making this something of a spiritual sequel to "... Versus Phase Three" (where Sarah did everything in her power to rescue Chuck single-handed in southeast Asia.)
Fantastic again this week. The above quotes really nail it down IMO. If Chuck was this quality this whole time I think we wouldn't be looking at an end in a month.
Also, another emotional episode this week... I swear Chuck is trying to get me to leak a few man-tears before they wrap this thing up!

I agree with the quotes you posted. It was another great episode and its becoming a very strong season. If the season had started as strong as the last 2 episodes, there probably would have been an order for extra episodes. Obviously that idea is gone now as they have wrapped on the season shoot but if they keep up this quality, at least the show is go out on a very high note.

I like how they completed Sarah's story in this episode. They mentioned Sarah having a sister back in season one and they closed out that story as well as the bigger story of why her mother was never around. Kinda brought her character full circle. The last scene felt like it was going to be the last real focus on the Chuck & Sarah relationship in the series too. I get the impression that the last few episodes are going to be completely targetted on getting every character to the happy ending of the series together now.

Heres hoping for a great last few episodes!

Thought it was pretty boring, only seemed good right at the end (once they got home), especially during the scene back at the CIA.
The fight scene was kinda over-the-top, too, crashing through walls and what-not.
