Does Kevin Doyle = Berbatov...

...in terms of laziness? I don't know what has happened to Doyle in the last year but he is not playing well at all and it's almost like he has become lazy.

Anyone agree? 12 months ago he would have been a dead cert to be second on the plane for a major tournament IMO. Now i'm not sure whether he should be on the plane at all with the list of other options up front.

This sums it up this year for me. Yeah they scored an og but what was Doyle at? Trapattoni would have eaten the head off him had the og not been scored.

Berbatov deserves to be lazy if he likes because he's amazeballs.

Doyle has been nothing short of dire for Ireland and Wolves for months now.

If his form doesn't improve he should not be starting for Ireland at Euro 2012.

On current form(and indeed over the last number of months) Walters >>>>>>>>>> Doyle

Well, up to last year you couldn't get more opposite.
Doyle worked tirelessly and gets about 4 goals a season. Berbatov does nothing and finishes top scorer.

Walters should be one of the first players on Traps starting list next summer.

Doyle has been pure muck for the last few months.

It's been Fletcher that has been keeping Wolves grinding out results.

Not sure of the reasons why he has become so poor. I would not say he is lazy, maybe just maybe he is not Premiership standard and I know some might totally disagree.

He hasn't played well since he got that knock last season. I think he is just knackered and needs a few months out, his game relies on tireless running and harrying.

How many goals did Doyle score in qualifying? I know he got 1 good goal against Andorra I think but did he contribute much apart from that in the campaign? Yet Trapattoni will probably still have him first choice.

I have never really rated Doyle.
The rumours of him going to Arsenal a season or two ago were laughable and for 10 million or more.... The guy had an okay season in the premier league when Reading were playing well. He has scored 2 goals I think this year, hardly any bloody good.

When you look at Keane, Walters and Long who all should be ahead of Doyle, his place on the plane should be in doubt if current form persists.

What does Doyle bring? He isn't fast. He doesn't score many. He doesn't get many assists. He isn't a goal poacher. He isn't overly good at holding the ball up.

Berbatov on the other hand holds the ball well. Scores goals. Gets a few assists And is just a class act.

2 of top my head both at home and away to Andorra.

Open to correction, but they only two I can think of.

The reality is, Trappatoni will bring a number of bods, whose participation in the tournament should be questioned. I remain concerned that the likes of Kevin Kilbane, Paul McShane, Paul Green,Andy Keogh, Darren O'Dea,and Liam Lawrence remain in contention, while the likes of Joey O'Brien, Mark Wilson, Leon Best, and Anthony Stokes will not even be considered.

In relation to Doyle, it is undeniable that Jon Walters and Stephen Long have had much better seasons than Doyle, while Robbie Keane is now in the retirement home of the MLS. My preferred partnership would be Long and Walters. In spite of that, the iconic status of Robbie Keane will ensure his name on the teamsheet, and Doyle will be his partner next June.

Have not watched him in action for Wolves this season, so can only base it on his last few Ireland appearances with which I was not very impressed with him. However I was under the impression he was not fully fit.

Maybe in contention for the flight but hardly the first team? McShane in defence v Spain?

The prospect of injury always increases the prospect of him taking the field

I would much rather Joey O'Brien!
