OP wants to play BF3, so Linux is out. WINE is plain annoying to set up, and compatibility isn't always guaranteed. BF3 won't run on WINE anyways.

I have something of the same dilemma, in the sense that my netbook runs Linux but my main computer runs Windows because like it or not, I'm tied into Windows for a lot of my games.

don't be obtuse. the relevant point was that you can download any of the dozens of other OS you could possibly want to use, but the company that makes the one OS that most people want, makes it awkward to legally purchase and download it for the average user, despite the fact it can be illegally downloaded very easily.

I dont get it either, Capt moderates the windows forum and comes up with that yet win7 can easily be bought-downloaded through :http://www.microsoftstore.ie/shop/en...e-Premium-Full and even software4students.ie

dont even know why the thread is still running TBH
