They are two unrelated apps! I've always used MoboPlayer, and trust it, but the one Chin linked to has a higher rating (4.7★ vs 4.5★).

Vodafone has the Xperia Play €209, does anyone know when it will be back in stock?
Because if it's going to be awhile I might get the xperia pro €270 on Amazon.de

Mobo is the business only app you will ever need to play video. Only issue is the fact that you need to refresh it if you have added new files or you won't see them. Minor annoyance.

A few people I know that have this phone, myself included, have had issued with the touchscreen. Mine has completely stopped working, i can navigate with the playstation controls but the phone is practically useless. Others I know have had less serious issues, but do complain about lack of responsiveness, or the touchscreen not working sporadically. Anyone else have similar experiences with this?

Occasionally I have a problem where the area I press on the screen is not the area that is activated. Turning the screen on and off always solves this problem. I do have mine overclocked with a custom kernel but not sure if that has anything to do with it.
What problems have your friends had?

They are going to release the xperia ics rom but you'll have to install it manually with no guarantee it'll work well the xperia players going to be released within a month

have had no problem with the touchscreen but I can't hear anything through the earpiece when taking a call, have use the speaker. I posted it back to expansys who couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Running a custom rom on this myself a few weeks back before i sold it. Laggy as fcuk really even when overclocked to 1.6ghz the single core just wasnt up to it.

Its too old. Try running windows 7 on a pentiumIII and come back to us. Its the same thing. My old X10 isnt getting it either, for the same reason.

The Xperia Arc got it and it's more or less the same spec as the Xperia Play and was released around the same time as well.

It was more to do with the compatibility issues with the playstation end of it. Controller issues.

Sorry too dig up an old thread, but it seemed like a better idea than making a new one.

Anyway, have the phone since the 180 quid deal went live. Absolutely loved the thing, but lately it's so slow, laggy and doesn't seem up to many things. Just browsing seems a struggle.

So, really I'm wondering if there's any Apps/Custom ROMS that'll give this Play a bit more time on the field. Bare in mind I have very few apps on it.

Any help is appreciated greatly.
