Dexter's job

I know Dexter is fiction but it does stretch credibility that he just disappears for hours at a time? There prob is no such job or its been reinterpreted just like CSI is bull about how much they do. Interview suspects-no way! Any thoughts?

In terms of forensic science, blood pattern analysis would fall under the biological section of things obviously so would only form part of the individuals workload.

They'd also deal with hair, semen, DNA analysis etc. It's very much a 9-5 so yes they are definitely stretching it a bit .

It probably makes up for the times he gets called out on the odd night that he's not out butchering people.

Well the IT guy's abilities have no relation to reality, so I reckon someone who knew the first thing about blood splatter analysis would find Dexter's work equally ludicrous.

He pretty much always got his work done on time and was friendly with everyone in the department so him missing was allowed once he did not miss much deadlines work wise.

Or maybe the fact that he gets called anytime to go to a crime scene means he's entitles to take it off at another time...
