Never played the original either but have the Wii version. It's alright but nothing too special. In saying that I didn't give it much of a chance as it didn't grab me. For 7 quid though I reckon it's worth a shot.

I can't play it because I've played the Saturn version and it feels like absolute sacrilege and misses the point. I'm sure you'll enjoy it more going in blind and you can't go wrong for 7 euro

On a related note, Gamestop seem to be dumping a lot of the Sega Wii stuff for cheap prices. The likes HotD 2&3 and Ghost Squad are hovering around the 6e mark. Fun times ensue.

Anyways, Retr0gamer essentially gave the consensus feedback, you'll enjoy it more having never played the original.

I really loved the soundtrack to this game.

Have no real inclination to play the original. Missed it at the time due to having a PS so it's my own fault. There's only one staurn game I want to play, Panzer Dragoon HD please

It's not even a fraction as good as the first but it's quirky and interesting enough to be worth a look to newcomers.

what they need to do is get the ps2 remake of the first on psn/xbla/steam etc
