Guilty Pleasures

For many years more than I care to remember, I have been a fan of *gulp* Barry Manilow! He has to be my biggest guilty pleasure ever and as I sit here telling you this I am cringing because I know I will get some stick

But, the even worse news (or good if you're also a fan) is that he's on at the O2 next May and I've just been and booked tickets for me and hubby (God help him!) and I'm feeling delighted with myself.

So, now my embarrassment is starting to subside, let me ask you....who or what is your guilty pleasure?

Come on now lads and lasses, 'fess up!!!

Ooh I'll have to think of something. Though there's nothing wrong with liking Barry Manilow. What does it matter what anyone else thinks!?

This. I'm a hedonist.
You should never feel guilty for being alive and having fun.

So no chance of a Barry Party then!? Ho hum, well getting back onto the OT. My main guilty pleasure is at present, Cadbury's chocolate, and in the distant past...... The Monkees!

Here we commmmmmmmme, walkin' down the street,
We get the funniest looks from ev'ry one we meet.
Hey hey.......

Though it wasn't too long before I realised that the songs were bad, and they often hit duff notes. So I returned to where I belonged.....with The Beatles, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!

...We're the Monkees and people say we monkey around
But we're too busy singing, to put anybody down....

Yep, I remember them too. To my shame, I had a picture of Davy Jones above my bed...to be followed not long after by David Cassidy and Donny Osmond

What a very misguided teenager I was, ho hum.

Wasn't he really cheesy though? Maybe we should have a 'who are you proud to have been a fan of?' thread. For that then it would have to be Simon and Carabuncle, at least they could sing, and write, and play the most beautiful melodies. Hope you all saw the recent documentaries on TV in the last week on them, plus the one on George Harrison, though I decided I'm glad I worshipped the Beatles from afar 'cos I don't think I would have enjoyed their company if I'd gotten any closer!
