we have to get the 13.50 plane in krakow on the 19th,so we will be leaving poznan by train early on the 19th but with the warsaw route there is very little time to change trains,would we be better off getting a direct 8 hr train at 2.30 a.m?

5h-5h30 min is absolutely realistic. But beware ! You need a reliable GPS with new maps of Poland downloaded (one option for Android is MapaMap: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=search_result) FREE 7-DAY TRIAL.

There's a very good navigation (winner of many tests) NAVI EXPERT (Android) which is also available FREE FOR 7 DAYS but... it works only on-line (downloading data needed for driving ca. 250 KB for every 100 km

You enter getne.pl and check what type of smartphone is indicated. Than press "Pobierz". You need to install the downloaded file. When the app started You press USTAWIENIA and then USTAWIENIA APLIKACJI and next JĘZYK and change to English. Then everything is obvious. You get a real-time traffic info so navigating roads in Poland should be... bread and butter ?

It's easy to get lost while leaving Liberec You change the roads quite often (it is fairly easy from Glogow on to Poznan).

You've got EIC 7100 train from Poznan starting at 6:30. YOU CHANGE TRAINS AT WARSZAWA ZACHODNIA (Warsaw West Railway Station) where the train arrives at 9:09.

After 16 minutes EX1317 leaves from Warszawa Zachodnia to Krakow Glowny which arrives at 12:07.

If, by any chance Your train from Poznan is late (let's say 20 minutes) You ask the conducter to inform the crew of the other train to wait a few minutes. It works !!!

driving from rotterdam across to poznan,

insurance company say im insured for 90 days, will the cops be an issue as long as im insured n taxed??

According to local paper only with PayPass cards will You be able to pay for products sold there. They will NOT ACCEPT cash.

Looks like that is a debit card and not generally available unless you have an account in specific banks (eg Citibank)

Doesn't make sense that you could only pay with them in the Fanzones.

Same route I'm taking and again my insurance says no issue. When are you going, we could form a mini convoy! If it's the Harwich- Rotterdam ferry, we'll be onboard the night of Friday 9th.

It seems right, do a search of "paypass" and be surprised yourself... What a big bullsiht, who does have one of those cards?? Or gadget, or whatever it is...
