Flags

I already know someone that can do the printing but does anyone know where I can get a decent sized Irish flag in Dublin? Has anyone hung one at a tournament like this before, how big is too big?

We're doing the same!
Heading over to Cherbourg from Rosslare on Monday the 4th. Taking it in 4 hour trips each day and should be in Poznan for Saturday. Google Maps is telling us about 15-17 hours. We're going to be driving 4 hours a day at the most so that will give us plenty time. I can't imagine google maps being too far wrong, it's mostly motorways we will be travelling on. 30 hours I would imagine is well off the mark. We're driving a VW golf, so a camper van would take a bit longer. Still it should almost certainly be 17-20 easy.

I am booked into 1st class on the TLK trains. Six of us have the compartment for ourselves only.

Will we be ok having a few beers in the compartment?

Hi guys,

Haven't booked yet but what is the best way to get home from Poznan on the Tuesday and having a decent lye-in.

Also is the general feeling here, that there will be Italy tickets on teh ground when/if I get over there.

Thanks.

Fair play Jacqal...u've a lot of freebies built up at this stage.

From Viamichelin Prague to Poznan

via Wroclaw & Ostrow E261 6h24min
via Glogow R10 E65 6h21min
via Liberec & Glogow R10 E30 5h 53

What do you think of those times...realistic at the speed limit?

In this Forum: "Soccer Tickets and Travel" in the thread "Euro 2012 - Convoy!" on 24th May I posted about driving from Cherbourg to Poland.
The example was Touron. 18 hours of non stop driving. My post with night driving, break every two hours shows it as taking 21 hours. No night driving: Arrive 30 hours after leaving Cherbourg.
I have not learnt how to link to another post.

TomTom http://www.tomtom.com/livetraffic/ Route Planer is showing Cherboug to Poznan as 15 hours. Quai De L'ancien Arsenal, Cherbourg-Octeville, FRA - Poznan, PL

Thus your plan of driving four hours per day is sensible. I used drive for three hours in the morning, look at some town for some hours, then drive east in the cool of the evening for another three hours.

TomTom's link for livetraffic. http://www.tomtom.com/livetraffic/ shows how heavy the traffic in Germany can be. Focus on e.g. Berlin.

Will you need a hotel? HRS http://www.hrs.de/web3/ is a German based reservation system.

We're driving Cherbourg - Gdansk on the 11th.

4 lads at 4.5 hours each has 18 hours, which should have us there!

We'll be travelling through the afternoon, evening and night 10am - 4am so hopefully we'll miss a lot of traffic.

Traffic messages on radio in Germany

Many persons are driving through France, Belgium and Germany to Poland.
When I am in Italy I hate not being able to interpret the traffic warnings.
This post is for audio trafffic warnings in German.

Achtung Geisterfahrer: warning ghost driver
Car driving in wrong direction on Autobahn or Dual carriageway.

Action: Keep right, no overtaking, radio tells you when the danger is over.
Der Geisterfahrer hat die Axx verlassen: The Ghost driver has left the Axx

Stau: Traffic jam

Vorsicht: Be careful

Fahrstreifen: Driving lane.

Defekter LKW auf dem rechten Fahrstreifen: Lorry broke down on the right hand lane.

Baustelle: Road works

Zwei Fahrstreifen sind gesperrt: Two lanes are closed

Vollsperre der Autobahn: Total closure of Autobahn

Bundesstrasse: National Primary Road
Landstrasse: National Secondary Road
(In Saxony, where Leipzig and Dresden are, it's a Staatstrasse)
Raststatt, Rastplatz: Rest area

Standstreifen: Hard shoulder
Strasse: Road or a street
Umfahrung / Umleitung: Diversion.

Can other persons contribute a post in French and Polish.

You can buy them on the Carrolls gifts shop in Dublin and they do mail order as well. I have a printed one coming from ultrasshop in Poland. Good value, 5m x 2.5m with print around €60 delivered.
