One man's plastic is another man's gold

Same goes for wood I guess, I like the look of this boat and am looking for a big project but at €10.000 it's a bit much

I swear I have no relation to this guy and never bought a boat from him or know anyone who did. I just think he seems to post reasonable priced things.

I thought this a bit much for bargain basement but given yours is 30k and this is under 14k sterling.

Last time I posted the link it seems to come up wit a whole page
I am referring to Lamartine A 26 foot Fairline Sunfury offshore cruiser.
Can they really do 30 knots???

Edit: oops seem to have forgotten the link

Can someone tell me why these boats sell for so much, nearly 40,000 for a second hand rubber boat, I don't get it

Completely beyond me. I remember talking to a broker at the height of the celtic tiger boom and he was telling me that he had sold a customer a brand new rib worth over €100k.

As he said himself, €100k for a boat you can't cook, sleep or **** on!

I also cannot understand why RIBs command the prices they seem to. Even old avons with big old two strokes seem to be asking 3 times the price for a comparable speed boat with the same engine.

I dont get it either.

it takes a bit of money to get a P3 license with all the kit etc, that boat is pretty high spec. and not to mention that engine, nice bit of kit.

Its not worth that that sort of money, but its nice and if money was no object it'd be on the list of maybe's!

If you are trafficking bales of coke maybe money is no object Sorry it just looks so that type of boat to me. Maybe how a "pimp my ride" car seems to a normal driver? I mean an automatic bilge pump in that?.... Why? Why not try using a bailer or a hand pump?

Anyway as some very silly dealers found out the sea can turn on you quickly and if you don't know what you are doing you can get in a very hairy situation very quickly. No police or coastguard need be involved to put life in jeopardy.

Not sure which camp this one belongs to, but in a million years I wouldn't buy it. Spoiler: You can smell it just from looking at the ad
