I think the bigger problem is that they are too one dimensional on offense. They had no running game yesterday and if Tom Superstar is off, then a loss is probable not even possible. Happened against the Jets last year.
They needed a better running game yesterday. 21-0 up is a time to run, run and run. They tried but git stopped at crucial points and when Brady tried to force it, the big turnover happened. |
Between Ridley and Woodhead and Lawfirm we could have had an effective run game but as usual with the Pats we decide not to use it more.
Ridley was running an average of 6.2 yards per carry, Woodhead 3.5 and Law firm 1.7. Had we pounded it with a combination of these guys more when we were up by 21 rather than trying to be greedy and keep throwing long and forcing plays they would have ground out 100+ yards between them in my opinion. Lawfirm has shown he can get yards even when it looks like he is going nowhere he ends up finishing strong.
Bad play calling was the problem mixed with stupid mistakes and bad discipline mixed with a shoddy secondary.
