Just wondering re timing etc - FNAC say they only charge when the item is shipped. If you order today and it ships later in the week, is it bye bye discount? Mine shipped yesterday though

I picked this up as well. It doesnt appear to have a resistive screen so for that price I dont think we can go wrong....

MPMan m1027 thoughts/comments ?

I know a number of people bought these including myself , anyone got any more thoughts/reviews ?
I have just had a small look myself , i dont think i have used it really yet to write any review (its a christmas present) , but here are some of my comments -

I think it is the same device as a Kyros Coby mid1024 ?

It is heavier than i expected.

Battery life seems good , played movies for 5-6 hours.

Sound is only fair , bit crazy that volume is over half way and still cant hear a thing ,but it is sufficient on full volume ,but wouldnt fancy listening to music on it.

I was not able to connect to Google Android Market , I am new to all this but do I need to have a Google supported device ? , and it doesnt reconginze /support this , Im sure there is a workaround.

I installed Flash directly ,seems to work ok.

It was able to play all the movies i stuck onto the sdcard.

Not sure about the capacitive screen , had to quick game of angry birds ,didnt really have the control over aiming/holding that I do on ipad

Overall i am a bit undecided even for 114 , on hindsight i think i would have been better off buying a recongized brand like Archos with decent support forums.

Fairly happy with my mpman but finding the wifi range pretty poor. My phone and laptop can pick up the wifi in my bedroom but the mpman just cant!

I got the Archos Arnona 10 G9.
Its ok for the price but the viewing angle is fairly bad and there is no access ot the android marketplace - they have their own crappy version called the "applib" which has feck all in it.

Still you can browse the net and play AVIs on it so not all bad.
(although I have had problems with some video files not playing or sound not playing also)

ya , will agreed about the wifi , meant to add that to my "review" , i havent used it at home yet ,only in work and there was a lot of disconnecting/scanning going on regularly , definitely not usuable , im hoping that it will be okay at home when im closer to the wireless router.

Bought an mpman myself .. well it was for a present. Only complaint was the lack of market as appslib is just unworkable. So with a bit of research found an article about installing market on mid1024 which is supposed to be the same tablet with different branding.

After a few hours of trying to get files that worked I managed to install market on my sons mpman.

Install GoogleServicesFramework.apk.
Next install Vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
Reboot

You will then have to associate your device with your google account.

I will attach the files to this post but please use at your own risk I dont want to be blamed if you brick your tab. I can say they worked 100% for me.

I am in no way an expert in android tablets so if anyone with a bit more knowledge would care to comment on the risk of bricking (or is it possible) when installing these apks.
