Making friends in Mullingar/meet up?

Probably wishful thinking but any tips on how to make friends in Mullingar, any clubs or social events I can attend, if not is anyone up for meeting up and spending some time together, I'm bored most days of the week

In the same boat myself. I was considering taking up Yoga, dunno for sure though, at €120 it's expensive.

There was a topic here, don't know if it's any use to you.

Hey, thanks for replying. None come to mind, I'm not even aware of most of the social bodies/activities in Mullingar outside of sports clubs :/

I'm starting college on Monday but shud be free most evenings and weekends, I'd love to make new friends or even do something new in Mullingar tbh

There are a lot of exercise and dance classes here, if you're a guy tho the only things i can think of is Thai Chi in the Greville arms and GAA clubs, it's awkward to get started makin friends but when u make the first one then it usually gets going from there

I'm just home for a week before I head off to the US again.

But, for this week, I'm in the same boat. Pretty much all my friends from Mullingar have moved on to other countries or Dublin (which may as well be another country for me, hate the fcukin place!).

So I'm free all this week, and at the weekend. So I'd be up to meet people for a pint/coffee or whatever? Thurs night maybe?

Yoga to meet people for lads??
Yoga seems like a great hobby or lifestyle but there's a yoga place around the corner from me in Belfast and its all 30 something women I see going in and out. Nothing wrong with that but hardly where a 27 year old male (me) would go to meet new mates.
Also the I find the gym a bad place to meet people its not a very social place kinda a solo thing.
Team sports are the way to go tag rugby being great as you dont have to be the next all star to take part in it.

Work is usually a good place to start and depending on your age/family situation move in with people around the same age. This applies to single people in their 20's mostly I suppose.
If you can pull a pint doing a few hours here or there in one of the popular bars will get you known.

Maybe a thread with a list of activities about the town would be a good idea, I'll do a bit of work and pull a list together and we can add to it.

Any takers for a game of 10 pin bowling some evening?? I think they also do leagues from time to time but you've to form your own team...of 4 I think? I'd be really interested to hear from anyone that might be up for this.
Cheers!

Hey Dee!
Great...another recruit on board!
I'm already in contact with 2 others who messaged me and are interested in arranging a meet up so lets hope we manage to get something up and running here!
PM with any ideas you may have Dee....and anyone else who are genuinely interested in getting this off the ground.
Cheers!
