Fireing 2 bbs in one shot with an M4? :s

Right lads, basically everything was fine with my gun, no problems. However the next day I tried to shoot it and it keeps shooting 2 bb's at once, which makes the range almost nothing. Any idea why this is happening? It can't be the mags as I have tried several and they all seem to have the same problem, so it has to be the gun itself.

Help would be much appreciated!

try adjust the hop up at different setting.your hop might not be on enough
maybe your using bad bbs as that happened in my mates gun with raptors but the problem dosnt occur with king arms

barrel could be dirty, usually with multiple BB's the gearbox is rarely the problem especially if it was firing fine the day before. try cleaning the barrel, or else there may bea problem with the hop up unit/bucking.

Right, I've tried messing with the hop up and it's done absolutely nothing. The BB's are fine, as they were working no problem the night (and a few days before) fine aswell.

What exactly would cleaning the barrel do though? Also I just remembered I dropped it the night before (from about 3 ft) onto concrete. Reckon that could of broken something in it?

If you have your barrel/hop unit out try dropping a bb through the unit and if a bb falls through the barrel without catching then the bucking is at fault. Try changing to a different bucking or buying a new one(Ultimate 50degree).

if you have any experience with hop ups, take it apart and check for damage, if that fails, pull out the mag and put it on semi, turn it upside down and look down the magwell and see if the air nozzle cycles twice when you pull the trigger once.

Right I put a bb down the barrel and it didn't drop out, so it can't be the bucking right?

I don't have experience with hop-up but I tried moving the twirling thing to adjust it but still fired two at one shot. Also it only cycles once when shot as I can hear only one shot being fired.

I'm all out of ideas, don't suppose you guys have any more? :S

still convinced it;s basic clean need in hop up, right turn the gun upside down again and look into where the BB's go again like a while back, this time put it on auto and pull th trigger, when you release does the gun keep cycling? other than that it could be the mag, try another one like a mates or sumtin.

well the little rubber inside the hop up unit could be damged/worn that's what I wanted you to check but don't take it apart fi you have no experience, I could talk you through taking the Hop up apart if you really wanted to.

Right, I done what you asked, everytime I shoot it only shoots once, so there is no double cycle going. I turned the hop-up from one side to the other and still every 2-3 shots it shoots 2-3 bb's. Anything else you guys can recommend? My baby has been out of action for days now

Does the gearbox sound like it's winding back after each shot? Ie, you pull the trigger and it "whirrs"?

hmm thinking about it Lefty is prob right 2BB's should mean the gearbox is singling more than once other wise there is no 'proper' reason why there would be two in the barrel in the first place... think bring it in to a retailer, it will be easier to figure out when you actually get the AEg in your hands

Do you wind the magazine a lot (or over fill mid-caps)? Sometimes when the magazine spring is under a lot of tension it can force 2 BBs into the hop up chamber at the same time. Try getting a completely empty mag half fill it and wind it just enough to feed about 10 BBs and see if it feeds properly like that.

Also make sure your barrel is clean. If it's not shiny it's not clean.

@T4RGET That's exactly what I didn't want to do, as it would cost me loads, but I'm really considering it now as I have no idea what the problem is.

@Evade Nope I have high caps but do not wind them that much, I have also tried 3 different brand new magazines (all high cap) and had the exact same problem. I have stuck the rod down the barrel a few times, but I'll do it again with some cloth this time. How could that effect the BB feed by the way if it was dirty?

@Everyone: Seriously lads, really do appreciate you guys taking the time out to help me here!
