Get a Saorview certified TV for starters... see power city for models from Walker, Sony or Samsung.

Connect your old Sky box via Scart for free UK channels.

You will need to feed an aerial to the new TV in order to get Saorview. Depending on your location, an indoor aerial might work, or use a couple of combiner/splitters to use the existing feed from dish and aerial, or if your not comfortable with DIY, you might need to get an installer in to do it for you.

Aerial on the roof should be fine, but you need to split it's output to feed both rooms, then combine one of these with the new feed from dish, and split it out in the kitchen.

It depends if the cabling from the aerial runs near the cabling from dish, otherwise forget combining and run a new cable.

Detailed thread here, have a good read of it, should explain it better than I can. If you have any more questions, you'd get more answers if you post in the Terrestrial forum, lots of experienced installers there to help out.

how far is your kitchen from the main room/1st tv?
you already have the sky dish cable separately coming in to the main room and the kitchen if i'm not mistaken , so no problem there connecting the sky boxes,

as you have the TV aerial coming in to the main TV, and if the kitchen is not too far from there, simple connect the TV aerial to the Sky box in the main room , then connect it to the main room TV with a short fly lead from RF! on sky box to back of main room TV, then buy a let's say 10 meter co-axial connection extension cable/lead and run it from RF2 on the main room sky box into the kitchen TV, pinning the cable along the way with cable clips of course, then like other poster said connect the kitchen sky box to kitchen TV with a scart lead (not with a short RF/co-ax lead)

6-7mtrs apart
yes cable from from dish going to living room and separate cable to kitchen
cable going from aerial to living room
thats where i'm at
what i figured(from boards.ie) was putting the old sky box in kitchen to receive free sat channels
& get a saorview tv and drop a cable from the "rte" aerial to this.........

am i missing something ??

oh!!,
ok i think what you describes would mean not running a 2nd cable down from the rte aerial
thanks for the suggestion, but i couldn't handle looking at a cable pinned along skirting or where ever it would melt my brain
i think another cable from rte aerial will be the way

thanks again for the suggestion
