Is there an app to do this on android, As in speak into the phone and it types your message for you??

I've a wildfire on 2.2

Google voice actions does this if you change the language to English US.

If your looking for voice to SMS then Handcent has it built in and it uses Google Voice input to do this. It will also speak your incoming SMS messages for you if you want - make sure you set it up correctly in your phone settings -> Voice input output section

Vlingo is a dedicated app for that too which is quite good if a little battery draining.

They aren't great with the Irish accents though I find.

I have found if you set up Google Voice recognition settings to English Generic it seems to work much better - even recognises Irish names and placenames like Sinéad and Portlaoise
I haven't had a chance to try things like Maedbh or Poulaphouca but I think even I struggle to pronounce those on my own
