well we figure if you can get people to sponsor you we can get more money than we'd get for one ticket. we have funding from the college that can pay for the meals so either way we get more money to fund our cause that way. I guess it could be single or multiplayer.
The difference between normal LAN play would be that it has to be one game and you dont get a break, but if thats ok with the participants then thats fine with us cause we get at least the same amount of money anyway, if not more. Also if you do a marathon you don't have to play a game we have on our server, you can play something else that you have, so that could appeal to people. We're not entirely sure of all of the details yet but it'll be pretty easy going we think.

We're waiting to hear back from the hotel about internet access. As far as i remember from Gamecon a couple of years ago they had wifi but the organisers blocked some ports so you couldn't play games online, like WoW. I'm not sure what the story is now though, it'd certainly be worth having a good connection since we've got SC2 now. Will let you know once we find out.
The seats are.. comfy I guess =P Theyre like the ones you get a debs in hotels. You can sit in them for 2 days straight so one day should be fine on your arse. I know a lot of people won't think that a 12 hour marathon is very long, but the point is that it's for charity, so whether or not it's a challenge for you, you're still doing it for a good cause, and that's what people are going to sponsor you for. If we made it too hard then people wouldn't do it =) |

So we found out they have a 20mb connection in the hotel. We'll be able to play games online but the speed will depend on how many people are playing at once.
Also, we've edited the event page with some more details including times of ticket sales, which I've quoted below: Quote:

I was, yeah! Yeah we wanted people to buy tickets before the thing so that we'd kinda know how many people would be coming but I guess people prefer to just turn up on the day so we decided that was fine too. But yeah, that's awesome that you're inviting people, thanks

Keep promoting it
![]() only a couple days left, maybe set up a facebook page, and do a little head hunting for other college compsocs, you might wanna go to the campuses around dublin and find the compsoc heads or maybe email/call them. Times a wasting
