I had this before and it was interference from the phone (landline) base station. Try moving the box or base station - might have to only move it a foot or so.

Don't have that receiver, but Tiny Pops is one of the first to go if I've dish/ lnb/ cable issues. I'm in an exposed location, so that one going is normally the first sign something is amiss. First thing I'd do is swap the reciever for one that's working, if at all possible, from family or friend if you don't have a 3rd one.

Dcom, don't know offhand, but if you physically screen the entire front panel with a book or something and then gradually move it laterally, while continuously re-pressing a remote button as the front panel is revealed, then you could isolate the IR location pretty quickly based on point at which STB responds I would expect?

For those unfamiliar with process: 1. Unzip contents to root of USB key (mine was standard FAT32-formatted). 2. Insert key in USB socket at rear of HD537. 3. Cycle on HD537 | Menu | Information 4. Key in not-so-secret code 1475 5. Restore from USB option. (Backup option here also). I presume the restore works, I have not tested, just ripped the attached backup for a friend just now. For those enquiring re general performance of the box, I have come across no further issues other than those expressed earlier re EPG limitations/bugs. Orson |
