Jesus they are just becoming an embarrassment to rugby at this stage with their gimmicks... I hope we shut them up for the sake of it!

It's going to be some defensive battle. I hope the pack are ready for it. Can't wait!

What position would you put a wolf in on the team?

flanker maybe, tackle anything that moves.....and kill it

That's hilarious... embarrassingly so. Check out the pic, those lads are sh1tting themselves! :D

No amount of wolf touching is going to prepare them for the likes of Nick Williams running at them ball in hand.

Williams running down to park with Saracans players hanging off him likes streaks of pish.

It's alright lads, many of the Nazi Wolf Packs surrendered in Derry/Londonderry at the end of WWII. Hopefully the Saracens Wolf Pack face a similar fate against the Ulstermen of 2013!

I am really building up a dislike of that club. I really hope Ulster destroy them.

Could Luke Marshall not at least wear a headguard. Plenty of others do.

And cover up his magnificent hair. It might help him but he'd be doing the rest of us a disservice!

Scrum hats provide almost zero protection against concussions, they are for preventing cuts, welts and abrasions.

Ive heard that but find it hard to believe. I wear a scrumcap and yes it wouldnt prevent a concussion, but it might reduce the severity and impact. That said im not the scientist

    start believing it.

Concussion is caused by the secondary impact of the brain hitting the skull.

A soft material is never going to make a reasonable difference.

In fact, a good mouth guard is probably a better tool to prevent concussions.

There's also the 'air of invincibility' that some people earn when wearing what they believe is protective. This is a counter-intuitive issue, in that players who believe that they are not going to be able to be concussed because of wearing a scrum hat, might attempt tackles in a manner that they simply wouldn't if not wearing one. The 'air of invincibility' can actually increase the likelihood of concussion as players are more liable to put their head where they really shouldn't.

Any plans for pints or that on the Friday night/Saturdat morning?

I'm living over here and have some mates flying in tomorrow. Really looking forward to it now. First time in Twickers actually.

I detest Sarries, always have, I really hope we can turn them over here.
When are we expecting team announcements etc?

Camden is a great spot. If you are there with a group then you could well have a great night up there, a few good pubs around (Brewdog, world's end and all those).

If you want to head more centrally there are tons of spots to go to. You'll be on the northern line of the underground so transport wont be too tough (get an oyster card, its cheaper than even a travelcard).

One suggestion I would make is to head to the Porterhouse in Covent Garden. Get the Northern Line to Leicester Square and then the Picadilly to Covent Garden. You are guaranteed to see the rugby in there as its the Leinster Supporter Club's base for London. Other pubs in London are not going to be as accomodating becasue they're all soccering heathens in this country.

The good thing about the Porterhouse is that its pretty much in the middle of everything so if you're looking to head out after it there are clubs and casinos everywhere. You'll have to get a taxi home if you cant get back to leicester square before 12:30 though. Not sure what a taxi to Camden is like.

Ecellent stuff. Think we will head to the Porterhouse for the Leinster game on Friday night then.
As I said I have just moved over here so thanks for your advice, will help long after this weekend I suspect.

Ravens team announced for this weekend.
Only thing of note as far as I can see is D Fitz there, does that mean Lutton on the bench for Sarries?
    McComish there too.

Adam D'Arcy being back from injury is noteworthy as well. Of course now that Payne is back it's not as significant but Ulster could have done with him in February and March!

The only suggestion I'd add is to just walk from Leicester Square. Don't bother with the Picadilly line to Covent Garden as it'll be manic on a Friday evening and it's only lift access.

Bit disapointed that Ulster didn't get a mention on the Rugby Club. Also listening to the Sarries players the only conclusion that I can draw is that if they were made of chocolate they'd eat themselves.

Ireland jerseys acceptable for the pretend Ulster fans on Saturday?

Did Munster get much of a mention or was it just the usual anglocentric stuff from Sky?

Thats what I do at Ulster Connacht and Munster matches when I'm cheering for them

By the way is anyone planning on doing the match thread (I might write up a preview after the teams are announced)

Of course. That's what I wore to Munster's win in '06.

Munster got a good 5-10 mins. Quinny interviewed POC and then Sky talked about his Lions chances and how Munster need to go back to basics and how POC is the man to do it. They reckoned they could beat Quins but only by keeping it tight.
