I think the whole shooting the film before the script is finished is getting more and more common these days. the first time I really noticed it was Jurassic Park 3 (seriously, the film doesn't so much have an ending as it just kind of stops). It seems the big studios are more concerned with meeting deadlines these days than making a decent film. I mean, those Pirates sequels were just a bunch of scenes strapped together in an order vaguely resembling a narrative.
