Hey guys it has been working but this morning I tried sending a email from it and it came up 'Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password.'

I have checked my hotmail account on my laptop and its fine.

Got this on my htc hero for the last week or so. Have two hotmail accounts set up and its only affecting one of them. Strange. Not an operator issue either as its happening on wifi too.

Login failed also appears when i try to refresh my mail. It has managed to refresh at least a couple of times in the last few days though.

How are you logging into it? An app or via the browser. The mobile version of the Live site works fine for me.

Having the exact same problem in the last few days, have downloaded the free app as a work around. It works intermittently but there doesn't seem to be an answer on the web for this!

Misses having the exact same issue on HTC Desire. She was receiving mail but was unable to send. Deleted the account and tried setting up the account again, but can't even do that now. "Authentication Failed..."

Tried various solutions, but just can't get it to work again. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, BN

Have had the same problem on the Desire. Posted on the hotmail forum, no response yet.
From other threads there, this is common enough now.
It started first, though, with the Thundermail mail client I use on my PC.
Will post here again if there's any update

Same problem here.

Samsung Galaxy S 2.1 and using the standard Email app.

Looks like a MS problem if we're all affected. Was actually coming on here to start a thread about it.
