Student March [Read Mod Note please]

This is a dedicated thread to today's student march - with the sole purpose of sharing photographs of the day. This forum is not meant for, nor do we mods have the capability to manage, the discussion about the cuts and potential effects on students.

We (as the Mod team) feel today's events deserve a place to showcase the happenings and frustration of the 25.000 or so students who participated in today's protest.

As the march got pretty heated and the opinions on the subject are passionate and diverse - there is a strict rule to not discuss any of this on thread. Both the politics and specific student forums cater for such discussions.

Adriatic, good shots, turns out I know one of the guys in that last one, haha mad isnt it, I looked ony our flickr and the image prior to the last one there shows the lad approaching the gardai alone. I emailed him a link, he said his plan was to ambush the gards:rolleyes:

Obviously there was a tonne of "Careful Now" and "Down with that sort of thing" even though its meant to say "this", a good few rude ones, but all in good faith anyway.

What do you mean by this?

Just curious, as I haven't really been out and about in the social world with my cameras, and only met a pro once (but didn't talk to him).

There was a "pro" out standing beside me taking photos. At one stage a boy got thrown out by Gardaí on the path in front of us unconscious. A couple of us knelt down beside him to try and wake him and then to carry him out of the crowd. Then the "pro" pushed us all aside screaming "GET BACK GET BACK". She then snapped a photo of the lad on the path and walked off. Couldn't believe it. I think she worked for RTE. Can't say for sure though.

Are they on Flickr? It shows you where your images are being linked from, such as pages, search engine results etc.

By the way this is from within flickr so the link is a search for the above words from wherever it is coming from.

Within Flickr, click on You and Your Stats, that will show you where people have viewed your images if they are linked to, and what search terms people have used that have lead them to find your images.

I've taken pictures beside her in the past and I've heard her shouting at people to get out of the way and cursing people who don't have their banners held straight. The people she's shouting at are usually too far away to hear her and she's only talking out loud. It seems like she just gets a bit too carried away. She seems to have put together a decent video portraying her side of the story, so what if some people get pushed out of the way.
