Dundalk couldn't match the wage being offered by Fingal. Quality signing by them and good replacement for Williams if he makes his expected move across the water. Fingal will be very strong again next year

I didn't realise so many players were prepared to accept payments in undeveloped housing land rather than cash.

Can't believe the difference was much. Fingal have drastically cut back the budget for the year. A number of backroom staff have been let go, to reduce the club bill.

Yeah, if Williams and/or Finn go, Bolger will be a good replacement. Details should be known in 2-3 weeks, negotiations are on-going.

I think Fingal will be very strong. They weren't that far away last season.

Aye, me too. Surprising though, as Gannon left!

Have Fingal signed any defenders? They need a few!

Could be my eyes playing games, but seen somewhere that only €55,000 is left over from the examinership (could be bull mind you), if that's the case then €145,000 in 2 years is a hell of a lot of debt.

Was there a fee involved or was Bolger out of contract?

EDIT: Found the question to my own question, he was out of contract.

Never, Fingal are a viable club that don't offer crazy wages!

Well Gav in fairness so far we have been a viable club and even if we do offer more than others (which I very much doubt at this time) not one of our players has missed one weeks wages, not one.

But you can carry on predicting our demise because saying a LOI club will fall on hard times is like throwing a stone into a lake and predicting it will hit water.

Did well for us last season when he came in but then again its not like we could do much worse defensively at the time. We where terrible and probably some of those examples came in those games against yous towards the end of the season. Decent games though. Even if we where on the wrong end of the results.

Either Fingal have another mystery backer or these signings wont be approved by the FAI and their budget will be rejected. We will find out over the next few of weeks.

Stopped after this in all fairness, if you think that Gannons 750k investment and still making an end of year loss is viable, you're obviously more clued up with financial aspects of life than me. I'm not predicting you're demise in all fairness, I'm predicting the sh*t will hit the fan soon enough ala Bohs situation.

Season before last buddy. That loss could easily have been swallowed up the following year. You need more up to date info. Players all payed up to date and on time. As for the future, well yeah. Time will tell I guess whether your prediction is right.

Yes, Fingal do have new financing, and new sponsors. Not as generous as Gannon, not as deep pockets, but there is new backing.

The main backer will be announced as the new club Chairman soon. No major mystery. The club are sourcing this years finances from a number of sources. Financing from many sources, rather than from a single, very generous, backer.

There's no concern about the club financing for the coming season, and the FAI are well aware. The club had a meeting with the FAI late last week, as an ongoing part of the standard license application process.
