Joni Mitchell
Shadows and Light. Live recording with Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Michael Brecker & Don Alias ( with guests The Persuasions )
Some called it the most perfect band ever assembled. I love this album. Pat and Jaco's solos are amazing. Edit: No Clips on youtube Last edited by ror_74; 22-10-2011 at 13:43. |

I would also have to include the Blu Ray edition of ' The Way up ' , Pat Metheny Group, live in Seoul 2005. The word awesome gets thrown around a lot, but play it through a decent system and it is a truely awesome musical experience

Been listening to Guy Davis a lot recently, discovered him a few years ago and boy what I'd do to see him play over here!

Roy Hargrove's Afro-Cuban band Crisol playing Kenny Dorham's classic Una Mas from the album Habana. What a band! So many Latin jazz legends in there - Chucho Valdez, Changuito, Anga Diaz, John Benitez et al.
Kuumba Frank Lacy's trombone solo is a scene-stealer. |

Have You Seen Them Cakes? - NYJO
I'm one of the trumpeters playing this in my school's Big Band, to get an idea of the quality of the group, we were one of only 11 bands in all of the UK to be invited to this: http://www.jazzservices.org.uk/index...ally-ellington I'm not playing the awesome solo part in Cakes but still.... |
