The B.P.F.O.

Does anyone remember the BP Fallon Orchestra (a show from the early days of 2FM/Radio2)? A show that was way ahead of it's time. He was breaking new acts long before Dave Fanning. He celebrated his 64th birthday the other day... I thought he was dead years ago!!

BP Fallon cannot be killed by conventional means.

He pops up now and again, usually ****ing on about musicians he hung out with/passed once in a corridor back in the 70's. He's amusing, but mad.

Back in late 1998 (November I believe), John Kelly left Today FM and "The Eclectic Ballroom" for RTE. This was Mon.-Thur. weekday slot. B.P. Fallon was a temporary replacement for a while on that slot.

B.P. played all his favourite tunes and artists and had his usual bizarre chat. He kept the seat warm for Tom Dunne, who arrived in 1999 with "Pet Sounds", now done by Paul McLoone.
