How will you be tested for heavy metal toxicity? Hair sample? Is your GP able to arrange this for you?
Will you have tests done first and then have fillings removed or are you going to have fillings removed regardless.
I also had some dental work, root canal etc ,done a good few years ago but never really considered it as a source of my current ailments. Do you have any good resources where I could read up on this.

havent read all the replies but have you had a comprehensive blood test? Also have you travelled abroad anywhere exotic? Africa, Thailand South America etc etc.

Enough blood tests to fill a bathtub. And no, I didn't travel outside Ireland. I was in Portugal 2 years ago, but I've been unwell for 4 years.

Gunna get tested for toxicity first, and then take it from there. Think I'll have them removed regardless, as the more I read - the better off it sounds having them replaced with white fillings. Did you have any fillings by any chance?

A GP I went to recently said that he had actually worked with heavy metals a few years back, and said that there was certainly an improvement with some individuals who went through the chelation treatment. It's worth a shot aye? Any reason why you are against it?

If I had of even read your OP properly i'd have seen you've had bloods taken sorry =/ i'd probably go with your filling removal first and then failing that go to a different GP to get a fresh perspective. Have you ever been away far like Thailand, SA etc like 4+ years ago?

Nope. Never. Just the States, about 8 or 9 years ago. Beyond that, nope. Doctors asked me that, and the medical assessment unit asked me it. In anycase, the did blood tests to check for pretty much everything.

Some long-term illnesses affect one's ability to work. These means that although one may have some money/assets at the start of one's illness, one won't always have that money to draw on. Which can be frustrating if something which has evidence going for it comes along and one doesn't have the money. That would be one reason why some people wouldn't try every treatment out there especially more pricey ones (some therapies can be pricey even if any one session might not be that pricey).

Thanks for the info. I'll check this stuff out.

It's not that I'm against Chelation, it's just that it quite costly and time consuming and there is lack of evidence that it actually works. At the moment I'm just frustrated with alternative medicine as I've tried quite a few different things only to be left disappointed.

I have a couple of mercury fillings and a couple of white crowns. I discussed this briefly my dentist before and he was off the opinion that any possible problem caused may be due to build up of bacteria around the crowns and just advised me to be vigilant with my dental hygiene which I am but makes no difference.
However research into relationship between dental problems and overall health problems is still in it's infancy but they seem to be making progress. It is briefly mentioned in this article form the IT health section last Tues.

Alot of dentists refuse to use mercury fillings. There is an association setup specifically for dentists that avoid mercury fillings. If not chelation, then perhaps you might read the paper I posted which shows you a home remedy for removing heavy metal toxicity. Certainly worth the read anyway! Might be possible you have a yeast infection such as candida? Or perhaps "leaky gut" syndrome?

Sounds psychological I'm afraid. Point of physical presentations of psychological illness is that you present without any clear idea you actually do have psychological illness. If physical tests are negative, that should say something. I doubt an infectious disease specialist is going to do anything unless these 'fevers' have been consistently shown in testing, in which case you would have been admitted to hospital by your GP at some point.

Have you seen a Rheumatologist or/and a Neurologist?
