We will start taking deposits and giving out the sponsorship cards now, so get in touch with me, Quazzie or Onkle via pm

What charity has been decided?

Here is a screen cap of the official form that will he sent or hand delivered to each participant. Each participant will receive 5 of these printed but a PDF can be supplied should participants want to print more.

all we need now is deposits.

Barretstown, excellent!!! Probably my favourite charity of all time, and there are existing links with Boards over the years!

Em ... can I be a right prat and mention a couple of things? ... not sure if this is the right thread, but as sponsorship form is here ...

Having "3 days - 2 nights" and then "Saturday 31st July" underneath is a tad confusing.

Maybe "31st July - 2nd August" or just "August Bank Holiday weekend"?

"until I reach my intended goal of 1200kms" sounds as if that's the upper limit that someone can collect, i.e. €600 ... now I know it would be great to get that for each person, but if people can get more even better.

I'm thinking and failing re: a better wording, but I might come back to it.

ATWR logo looks good on it btw.

Ok, one final, cynical point, which it actually pains me to mention ... is it a good idea to have even a screencap up in public in case someone unconnected and unscrupulous rips it off and collects money on it?

Sorry if all that sounds a bit negative, certainly not meant that way.

They're an excellent charity and when ww got official affiliation with Boards.ie we asked them for suggestions and Barretstown was one of them. Since it was an extremely worthy charity we went for it, and they've been great and very appreciative. Which is exactly what we wanted.

Work away. Criticism only leads to a better run event so the more opinions the better. Everyone working on this has done so voluntarily and no one claims to be an expert so it's opinions like your own that will make this a better event.

Very good point, and I'll change that before i send it to the printers.

Again another good point, but I myself at this time(maybe just because it's early) can't think of a better wording, so any suggestions from any will be greatly appreciated.

well it is an extremely low quality jpeg so they can't print direct, but I do concede that they could reproduce it easily. I'll remove it later.

Not at all. Like I said all criticism is welcome and it all leads to a better event so thanks for taking them time to give it a good look and make some good suggestions.

Indeed, I know, and I've been there myself, which is why I felt a bit prat-ish for nitpicking! At the same time, I know myself that when I'm looking at something for a while I'm always glad of a fresh pair of eyes.

That would definitely be better.

Or how about something like:

"I am participating in the All the Way Round Sponsored Drive. All proceeds will go to Barretstown Camp Fund. Each participant is aiming to raise at least €600 (50 cents per kilometre).

Serious fun needs serious funding, please help us to help Barretstown!"

Perfect. Added. P.S. I got a price back for the printing which I think I'll go with. 37.50 for 75 sponsorship sheets so I'll get that printed early next week.

Please support me in my attempt to raise money for the Barretstown Camp Fund. I am participating in the All The Way Round sponsored drive this July 31st and intend to travel a distance of 1200kms to raise money for the cause. I ask to be sponsored for a set distance at 50cent per kilometer. Please give what you can.
As for stickers, we are on a really tight budget and I dont think we can afford them.
