Olympic Flame - Howth 8am 6th June.

Just in case people weren't aware, the Olympic flame arrives in Ireland next Wed. It will be driven from NI to Howth, where the Olympic Council of Ireland will take it over. It then moves to Dublin city.

http://www.olympicsport.ie/summer-ga...announced.html

Should be a great event for Ireland.

Skerries 100 Motorcycling this weekend, resulting in road closures from around 3 this afternoon until 9.30 this evening, and between 9am and 6.30pm Saturday

More info here

Best routes into Skerries during the road closures are going to be the coast roads from Rush and Balbriggan

Run for your village

yeah - that's what's going to be happening in Lusk very soon. A fun and family run of sorts is being held to raise funds to try and make sure Lusk is not used as a toilet pipe for areas throughout Leinster.

There is a 2km, 4km and maybe 8km run, walk, jog , whatever ya like. I'll be there pushing a buggy for the shortest distance possible The idea is to contribute an entrance fee (12 euro per adult?) and family tickets available. Possibly a better approach than asking people to get sponsorship. I think its on at the end of July? 29th? Anyone hear about this event might know?

SO if you'd rather not see Rush/Lusk turned into a sewage pipe come on down and stretch yer legs. There are flyers in the Supervalu in Lusk. Also saw a sign for it just beyond the Round Towers Service station - just at the T-Junction. Good for whom ever is organising this event. Hoppe they get a massive crowd.. There is a website listed on the flyer but i dinna remember the URL...will update if i find it.

Mot of us are so busy that if ya were to ask a random poll of folk in Lusk /Rush and North County Dublin about this treatment plant most would give an answer along the lines of ...'MEH'

so come along and have fun raise some funds fight the power and run Forrest RUN!

If I would like to add my 2 cents about this festival or ask a question about it, or express an interest or opinion about it, is this the place to do it? (Possibly not as there is 'no chat' on this thread) ....

Or should I start a new thread to start a discussion instead?

any ideas boardsie mods on the best way to progess?

thanks

Friends of Autism and ADHD and Fingal LEADER Partnership invite you to attend an information day for parents of children with special needs with talks from Dr Sean J. Fennell, Consultant in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics, who will discuss ‘red flags’ for developmental delays and medication, and Professor Carol Fitzpatrick, Consultant Child Psychiatrist, whose talk is titled 'Support for parents of young people with ADHD'. This information day will be held in the Bracken Court Hotel on September 19th from 10:30am-3:00pm.

Following on from this, a 6 week course – “Coping with ADHD – Support for Parents and Carers” will be offered. This will be held in the Parish Centre, St Peter and Paul’s Church, Balbriggan. The course beings on Thursday 8th November and will run every Thursday until 13th December from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

For more details on either of the above events please contact Katherine Moreland, Advocacy Worker or Bernie Hagan, ADHD/Autism Administrator on 018020484 or email kmoreland@fingalleaderpartnership.ie / adhdfingal@gmail.com.

‘Friends of Autism and ADHD’ is a charity shop established by local community groups, and now has three branches in Balbriggan and Skerries. They welcome donations of clothes, bric-a brac and furniture as well as new volunteers. Friends of Autism/ADHD are very grateful for the hard work of all their volunteers without whom none of this would be possible and are always happy to accept new volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with Friends of Autism/ADHD, please contact Bernie Hagan on 01 8020484 / adhdfingal@gmail.com or drop into one of the shops.
