When is shoplifting acceptable

When you spend more than €15 in a newsagent, are you within your rights to assume you are entitled to a complimentary newspaper?

never. its stealing and thats it. if you spent 1000euro in tescos they would still expect you to pay for a newspaper so dont try it in a small shop with a much smaller profit margin.

Whatever about taking a small number of nuts and bolts out of a packet in Woodies because you only need a few pence worth and don't need the other 4 euros worth while spending 50-60 euro on other items in Woodies.

No. Because by thieving the newspaper you have just wiped out what little profit margin the Newsagent made on the other €15 of goods.

Could you clarify the "within your rights" part?

So if its a large chain or franchise, who generate massive profits, thats when it is acceptable?

Why steal a magazine ffs? If it was a loaf of bread or a carton of milk it wouldn't be nearly as bad. You obviously don't do it out of necessity and there's easier ways to get a cheap thrill tbh
